I think Szobo is definitely similar to Stevie G as in presence in the midfield. He's solid, he participates in the play and can also create chances, he wins balls, he's confident and he scores too! Complete Midfielder.

90 goals for club and country and almost the same in assists in his entire career as a midfielder is no small amount, heck, before even reaching 25 years old. So hope to see him start to reach his prime soon! Slot knows how to use him in a hybrid box-to-box guy between an attacking midfielder, half-winger, and a 2nd striker which was what Gerrard was in his prime.

Szoboszlai had a bit slow start to this season for the very obvious reason. Then he got back to full fitness, forgot all about the injury and let it fly. I don´t remember which game it was when after about three tackles in a row to win the ball it was obvious he was back.

It seems to me that Mac Allister never passes to him. He arrived to the club with a world championship title wearing nr 10 and he has to play defensive midfielder. I think he envy Szoboszlai. I see more passes finding Szobo recently due to Salah's contract expiring but not from Mac Allister. In Leipzig he had a player like that in team: Nkunku. He arrived in the Premier league as the star from the same team as Szobo yet look at them now! Nkunku is a rotation player. Szobo leads the Pleague with his team as a very important link. Nkunku was the star in Leipzig because he was selfish, very rarely passed the ball and he had not much competition as a forward in team.
