Thank you so much! I was stuck with my Adobe Premiere Pro constantly crashing whenever I tried to delete a portion of my clip from the timeline and I couldn't find ANYTHING from google. I deleted my files stored in the Documents folder as you mentioned and the issue went away. I was afraid I would have had to restart from scratch! Just a quick tip that I am going to spam/comment in some video-tuttorials with this subject : I was stuck and frustrated with the ccp-814 error for many days. Then I started exporting my project in smaller sections (part1 part 2 part 3) hoping to connect it on a different edit session. And then BAM! One of the fragments/parts got the same error mesage. Then it became easy to detect the problem. It seems that adobe premiere has some kind of "sensitivity" for audio that is left even on a muted track. This was bringing the whole project to collapse. When I resolved this, everything went smooth like before! Try it.

Adobe must to stop using overseas cheap programmers and support team for their expensive subscriptions and pay better programmers to keep their users from losing money and health with countless hours of frustration. Yes, cheap labor (the names of their supporting team members on the chat gives you the tip). Their support forum is a joke, you will rarely see Adobe staff jumping in and present a solution, their careless and think we are the kings. Since may people are chained to their services and cloud, it would be a hassle leave them. Besides, subscription is a joke and chain for life, where it can costs more than $3,300.00 after 60 months and you own zero, nada...like a leased car. Glad I found DaVinci Resolve to resolve the problem Adobe creates. Yes, I will have to learn a new app, but frustration free life is priceless.

I have an issue where I go to export a video (even if it’s been rendered in to out) and it the timer freezes and so does the percentage. I delete cache files and enter premiere just for it to freeze my entire computer. This issue recently became a thing and have never had a single issue with premiere. Any thought? Gilles, why do cross dissolve and film dissolve sometimes refuse to apply to middle of two clips instead to the end of the first or beginning of the second?

The dissolve effect needs frames to work with, when you apply it as a transition between two clips it needs to have frames to work with. If one of both clips start at the very beginning or ends at the very end it doesn't have any more frames to dissolve from the clip to the other clip.

hey Gilles, When I try to mask a video in premiere pro, I don't see the blue edges when I click any of the three masking options but the mask is already applied to the clip ! And I don't think I am the only one suffering with this problem. Do you have any fix for that ?

Hi Prayash, You have to click on the mask itself in the effect controls. So where it says 'Mask (1)'. Hope this helps. 🙂 Gilles
