The dynamic between Rick and Dave reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry takes his car to his mechanic and the mechanic knows everything about the car, admonishing Jerry for not keeping track of the air pressure on the tires and things of that nature. Ofcourse Rick is just as knowledgeable of his gear but I just thought it was funny seeing Rick verify details with Dave.

I would like to say - that is what an interview should be like - but it is more the personalities that make this such a great spot. The format had something to do with it. You guys set the bar for an interesting discussion. Thanks to all of you.

I have a ‘79 “the SG”, and I have the opposite opinion regarding playability after a headstock break...mine was broken clean off, and post-repair I swear 100% it is more stable than ever. It doesn’t make any sense I know, but the notorious g-string tuning issues are gone.

Great rig rundown! Rick is one of my favorite youtubers ! We’re about the same age, so watching his vids, listening to his stories, and his professionalism are fantastic! He reminds me of myself; pure enthusiasm. I get a kick out of watching his channel. John, what can you say. Bolinger is the best at rig rundowns; hands down. I think, even more important, is the respect he shows to the artist he interviews. Just a great time. Keep up the good work fellas!

I'm SO GLAD you started with string gauge. It's such a basic thing to start with. BRILLIANT. I recently bought a Squier Custom 60s Telecaster and I think it came with 8 gauge strings and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I'm thinking of putting 8s on my Gibson too.
