Great stream, as expected, some slight wobbles with the audio at points but that's to be expected over 6,000 miles of dusty Internet cables. You might have plugged his training at the end, though - I believe that's standard collab etiquette these days. At least chuck a link in the description. Looking forward to the next one, in the meantime I have 6 hours of Andy Murray to catch up on.

I am 44 in October and I was having a discussion with my fiancé that the slippy slope of short attention spans in kids (this is just my opinion) started with the Cartoon network quick edit style cartoons that never had a a shot longer than a few seconds. There was also several channels of this stuff available 24/7 On wacaday they showed segments of an episode of Transformers so it it could take a month to watch one. You had to learn to be patient and appreciate what you had. I love these long in depth discussions and when a conversation develops you end up on a subject you never imagined at the beginning and it can bring a golden moment. This video is a good example I feel of that.

No shit! I went thru multiple teachers and they were all brilliant, but they just didn't know how to connect with young learning students. They took the fun out of it and made it like homework. I finally confronted one and asked why she's having me transcribe Mary Had a Little Lamb and Happy Birthday and the other nursery rhymes and she told me it was because the melodies are so ingrained that it makes the connection between the ear, the hands and the brain. When you see a C sharp, you hear a C sharp and you play the C sharp, you build that bridge between the three. I told her we could do the same thing with ACDC Back in Black and not only would it be learning, I would have FUN. She then switched over to using songs I actually enjoyed and my playing exploded. If I had a guy like Rick it would have been even better!

I have also become a big fan of not only The Darkness, but of your KZbin channel Justin Hawkins Rides Again. I truly enjoy watching and listening to you. Intelligent, informative and a little self deprecating humor goes a long way with me. So thank you and I'm hoping to see you with The Darkness in the San Diego California area someday.

@@dentoncrimescene Cannot stand him or his boring, egomaniacal commentary on his channel. Worst JHRA video ever.

I agree. Rick looked particularly relaxed with Justin. Rick's interview with Sting was probably the least relaxed, but it looked to me that Sting was tense and defensive at first until he understood where Rick was coming from. I got the impression Sting didn't do his homework and watch Rick's videos, but went in blind.

I watched this in full live today and it was without doubt the most brilliant thing I’ve watched in a long time. So informative. I loved when you both spoke about tiktok etc. I’m trying to gain an audience the old fashioned way and it’s slowly working. Appreciate you both spending so much time covering EVERYTHING

Rick is such a naturally engaging speaker. Even if it's about music that I'm not particularly into, his enthusiasm and passion are thoroughly enjoyable.

Just found your channel and I love how humble you are! It's great to see an accomplished musician struggle a bit when learning songs by ear instead of making it look simple like you're reading off sheet music!

You come across incredibly authentic which is hard to come by and Rick is a treasure where I think you really captured the moment well. I had never heard of you until the Taylor Hawkins tribute but talent found its way. Love how Rick broke down your intro. Just a fantastic interview. Well done!

Please keep doing interviews like this. It was so genuine to see you actually ask questions about music theory and basically ask for impromptu guitar lessons. Keeping a genuine is awesome. So please do this more.

Beautiful to see and hear a conversation about music with these two young legends. Conversation with filled with mutual respect at a level we don't get to see anymore. Questions were on point and Rick's great answers were made even better with facts from his real experiences. I could see your were a little nervous and that added more validity to the interview. Hard to believe that was two hours long. I think we all need more of this in our lives.

I love your channel and I love Rick Beato's channel as well. This was a fantastic interview. The interaction with you two was amazing, the industry, the amps, even a shout out to Jim Pierce was great. I can't say how much I truly enjoyed this video. You are a great host. Don't stop what you are doing. From the desert of New Mexico, USA (not even all American's know 'We Are A State). Thank you.

This is possibly the best video I’ve ever seen with Rick Beato (and I’m aware that’s a HUGE call). Well done Justin. Hope you two do more of these together. I would LOVE to see him to a song deconstruction with the original multi tracks on something like English Country Garden.
