I am a 5th grade teacher in NC. I am also doing summer school. Our county is doing 6 weeks of summer school. Three weeks, a week off for the 4th, and we are starting our last three weeks tomorrow. I signed up for all 6 weeks. They paid us at the end of the first three weeks and my check was amazing! We will get paid for the last three when summer school is over. I have been teaching 24 years and I always rehearse. It helps me remember as well as anticipate any issues that may come up. I love your channel!

Gosh, I can't believe it either. It has literally flown by. I am so happy to be out of that "new teacher" phase though that scares off parents! Thank you so much for sticking with me through it all!! Since I moved down from 4th, I don't know if I would ever want to go back up again. I love being part of the foundation. I would love to try 2nd, but 3rd really makes me happy with teaching the kids how responsible they are for their own learning and to own it!!

Starting at the vowel count the letters until the end of the word. Say, "1, 2, ,3, get rid of the e." Or when doubling final consonant, "1, 2, double I do."

I really don't like it. For third grade at least it is not rigorous enough for this stage. I feel like it would be a great supplement as we are introducing skills throughout the year, but the kids understand the skills at this point. There are not many comprehension questions with it. How do you feel about it?

Why would it be crazy to feel ADHD? It’s human. We all have days/weeks/months where we find it difficult to concentrate. Those who feel it every minute of every day should definitely see a doctor about possibly needing medical help.

you're right. When I was editing this, I'm like I am not crazy. I just continuously self diagnose myself and I am not going to a doctor. You're right, I definitely need to do that!!
