We used to put waste oil in the swath and run it through half a dozen times,can’t recall any damage from rodents.

Yes i have done that before. Im sure the oil when done rite keeps the rats out fairly well.

Rats and mice dont like peppermint oil. You can soak cottonwool in the oil and distribute it around the combines…along with the mothballs. I had mice in my car last winter and after trapping them, I tried peppermint spray and nothing returned. But the oil in cottonwool would be even better.
