Andy’s hair is having a civil war between grey and brown
@cmpcmp588015 күн бұрын
Civil war is not the immediate problem. We will have to deal with possible civil conflict and violence. Various factions in each party will be disaffected by the outcome and might decide to behave poorly. I am not sure that our law enforcement and security community will be up to the task of securing communities. One warning - If there is violence, the police will not be there to protect you but they will show up to arrest you. Be thoughtful and safe in all actions. Thanks.

Reasonable minds can disagree. We got here in part because increasingly people do not believe in our election system, and thusly question the results. I think it has less to do with anger of losing, and a general distrust in the system. A distrust that has been growing for a good 20 years. I can remember election cycles where I've been disappointed and then it's nose to the grindstone, and I'm going to control what I can control in my life. I think most of that distrust resides on the right due to the power structure with media and leftwing politics, however the left has also been openly questioning their losses for the same period of time. Even I distrust it, and I think civil war is insane. The horrors of war being what they are, imagine no dividing lines. It's kind of like parts of the GWOT. Evil people interspersed with people who just want to survive. We are a country that is ideologically widespread with some exceptions. The hyperbole and rhetoric is marching towards something. Overhauling our election process to make it more ironclad would go a long way towards quelling this. The audience can decide why or why not this will ever happen.

Collapse of societies, I think, follows the same blueprint - a slow degradation of all the institutions and societal norms. It will not be any different from the collapse of the Soviet Union: hunger, non-functional corrupt government, non existent medical system, corrupt police and organized crime that is a de facto rules the country. A complete lawlessness. Look across the south border. It is enough to increase a violence level by a notch and you will see mass casualties will spike through the roof in general population. After all, a civil war is war between citizens. Movie Sicario has a nice phrase at the end "You will not survive here, you're not a wolf, and this is the land of wolves now". This is what societal collapse looks like. My significant other lives in Philly and sometimes when I pass by the Kensington street, feeling like I'm in one of the Dante's circles of hell. Maybe, it should be a stark reminder to us ?

I appreciate and respect the calm and collected stance that you have. I’m grateful to see there are still people like you out there discussing the matter is such a fashion. With that being said, here’s my view on one of the primary factors of how we got here and why this is still on the precipice of violence. You said you want us to be able to disagree and coexist as a community. I agree completely however, the only way that happens is both sides agree to operate within a reasonable or rational bubble of beliefs. At some point, all viewpoints become extreme to the majority. That’s where you find out where boundaries are, and hence should retreat. One party specifically has been extremely tolerant of other people beliefs and a willingness to coexist. While the other party has become obsessed with finding the boundary of rational and hellbent to exceed it, all while making it clear that they have no desire to coexist with the other. I’ll let you decide which is which. And here we are…

I'm glad to see push back on the civil war discussion. It's one thing to say we should be prepared for anything, that these conditions *could* lead to a civil war- or even that we're seeing early stages, but no one should want it to happen, especially if they think it will make the country better. Neighbors fighting neighbors, your child found zip tied with nails in his joints and all of our economic capabilities leveled. Whatever would eventually be rebuilt from that will never look like they're imagining now & would forever change our society.

Loved this, and I agree. Anyone who is seriously advocating for a civil war has never seen what humans are capable of doing to other humans. There's nothing wrong with being prepared. You should always be prepared and training for a SHTF scenario to pop off. However, being prepared for conflict doesn't necessarily mean you want conflict. I can say that my I and my friends are pretty well prepared. Yet, we hope/pray that nothing happens and what we've prepared/trained for never happens. We're not going to go looking for trouble, but, we are prepared if it comes looking for us. Just hope that none of that happens.

Your point about the sheer psychological and physical destructiveness and tragedy of a civil war is well taken, as is your point about the wide spectrum of actions that can and must be taken between "voting" (sneer quotes because I HAVE lost faith in voting as effective) and civil war. I think a point you have overlooked in this video (I have not seen any of your previous videos) is the profound difference between the political sides in our visions for how the country should be governed, i.e. the proper goals of government.

Andy, why don’t you explain what a civil war would look like in this country based on your experience? I’m don’t believe not talking about it will do much to stop it if we are indeed on that track. I think it would look similar to the Balkans. Which from what I read was hell on earth. Neighbors turning against neighbors. Mass graves. Starvation. I met a guy from Croatia that told me about helping his math teacher call in American airstrikes on the (whoever he was fighting). It would be a disaster. Unfortunately there are times in history when each side feels like war is the only option.

@TGuard0001415 күн бұрын
I disagree strongly. There are lots of people who once I actually got to know them turn out to be real jerks that I disliked far more once I knew them than when they were faceless strangers. The idea that if you just got to know people it would fix things ignores the fact that there are actually a lot of turds and jerks populating the planet. All of the assholes on the internet are someone’s real life neighbor.

@TGuard000148 күн бұрын
@@lordofminis that’s my point. My point is I am out there in the world. I work in a field where I interact with thirty to fifty people a day, I grocery shop and do my other errands locally in a small town where people still talk to each other instead of staring mindlessly into their phones. I go to kids sporting events and community activities, and people out there really suck. It’s common place for someone to yell at our staff for something they cannot control. People simply no show for appointments or show up late and then expect to be seen, they lie to get what they want, they refuse the follow directions then complain when they don’t get the outcomes they want. At kid’s events they scream at their kids, scream at the coach, scream at the other team’s coach, scream at the referees. They yell at the poor girl behind the counter at Wendy’s because the frosty machine is down, again, or because it takes too long to get their order because they are short staffed. This isn’t a rare thing, this is happening 10% of the time or more. That’s just the people who are rude. Don’t get me started on the number of people who are mentally incompetent in our society. I’m talking about people who are extremely developmentally delayed, people with mental illness, people with drug addictions, dementia, potheads and other legal recreational substances. That’s probably thirty percent of the population. 1 in 4 American women are on a prescription for a mental health condition. The problem isn’t politics. The problem is our culture sucks which is why people are rude and disrespectful in much higher proportions than previously and then we have a lot of people who are not well and who are not cognitively functioning properly. “Man working with the public and interacting with people really made me appreciate humanity” said no one ever, and certainly not in 2024.

These are good words, and your questions and points are extremely valid. Unfortunately, you all (law abiding tax payers)have been on the losing end of a civil war for two decades. They have looted you for trillions and set you all against each other while fully consolidating power and even carrying out genetic experiments on your children. This denial of reality is proving to be fatal for the nation. The people who pay the most for this will not be those of us who are censored, ignored, mocked and threatened for twenty years. It will be the majority of you still in complete denial, and your families. This has already proven itself true again and again in my life experience. The men who have recognized the reality of the situation and had the ability have already insulated themselves from the collapse. The collapse doesn't happen quickly, it is slow over decades. That's the fate of nations who fail to address treason, state level theft and sabotage. You all haven't just failed to address the international high level criminals who control your infrastructure, communications and media, you have shown undying loyalty to them while threatening each other.

The only way to talk someone out of something is to provide alternate solutions to the issues they're facing. But no one takes the time to do research to find those solutions and even if someone does they themselves aren't going to change anything by themselves. This is going to take millions of people to get the knowledge needed and to simultaneously use their voices demanding that the law is followed and those at the top who have broken the law be held accountable.

I’ve thought about this a lot , and I just don’t know what an actual “civil war” in the U.S. today would even look like. Back in 1861 the way everything was structured back then it would make sense how you would get something like a civil war to actually happen and be organized. But today? Things are structured and organized in a way that would basically prevent that from ever happening again. And that’s not even talking about the people and how vast, diverse and complex we all are from each other in our thoughts , beliefs and opinions. Do I think some groups and local militias could rise up ? Sure only to be crushed soon after. Idk I just don’t see a full on kinetic conflict happening nationwide purely based on just how the U.S and it states are structured. Not even mentioning the many other reasons why.
