Semiconductors had run up to 75% of my portfolio. I cut that back to 40% last week after seeing my first strong sell signal since 2022 and will likely sell more in July. I still think the S&P 500 has 3% - 6% upside before it corrects, though.

Daniel, I have much respect for your thoughts on stocks. I've made a substational upside with TQQQ, SOXL, CMG, AVGO, META, GOOGL, and doing very well with MSFT, ET, BRK.B. Others, well not so well. The tone in your voice, and other factors you've laid out, along with other flags I use have me wondering if I should start by dumping the triple leveraged TQQQ & SOXL. I was going to wait till sometime in August - because I'm greedy, but know I'm reconsidering. Thanks again!

To me it seems like the cc delinquency rate is back to being on the same trend it was before covid stimulus money. Will be interesting to see where it goes

Was looking more on your plans or rather investment vehicles that are more resilient in a bear market. Gold? US dollar? Bonds/tbills? It seems historically some climb before the crash but then go down, just maybe not as much as other sectors. Just a thought, not a criticism towards your channel, as yours is one of if not my favourites. The pool decline is an interesting stat. Is it really a warning or more an issue with the company, I suspect the former as you mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback. I think each investor needs to assess it differently based on their own risk preferences, savings, salary, etc. For me personally (not advice), that means a healthy cash balance, the ability to margin up (possibly significantly) in the future, and going through each position to assess how sensitive it might be to the economy. Most of my positions are not directly tied to U.S. consumer discretionary purchases. That said, one recent purchase is. The stock is growing at 30% and trades at ~16x earnings, founder led, big insider buying... a lot of the key aspects I love with investing. That said, I'm also aware that it has a fair amount of debt, and some of their customers are more sensitive to the economic cycle, so it wouldn't surprise me if the stock got hit if a recession played out. That thought process goes into position sizing, etc. I hope this follow up is helpful for you!

Doesn’t buffet and munger preach not buying stocks on margin?
@unrivaled4 ай бұрын
You're of course right. That said, it's important for every investor to have their own journey. For example, when Munger was younger I believe he put more than 100% of his net worth into a single arbitrage play. This is incredible given that in Munger's last interview he talked about how he wished he had used more leverage in his life / at Berkshire.
@davidm14364 ай бұрын
Some might even argue that the whole Berkshire situation, using the insurance float to invest in stocks is a form of “safe” leverage.
@unrivaled3 ай бұрын
That's 100% right. Also, not always safe.

I have a lot of respect for your in regards to stock picks, but I think this is very misleading video. First, there is some clear difference between outright price control vs. price gouging ban. It makes sense for government to ban the companies form colluding to set a much higher price for medicines than in other countries, or grocery companies or rent companies to work with competitors keep setting higher prices even when the inflation is significantly mitigated. You also mentioned $25,000 incentive for first-home buyer would drive the house market, and there will be more deficit. What you didn't mention is Kamala also plans to build 3M more homes, and the people with very high net worth will pay their fair share and discourage just buying home for investing purposes. About the tax on unrealized gain. You know it only applies to the individuals with more than 100M+ net worth right? Sure, they will get taxed more, but when they just sit on appreciating stocks and not having to pay taxes (and effectively paying less tax rate than middle class) doesn't make sense to me. For me personally, if I had more than $100M net worth, I wouldn't mind some money going for education, health care, etc. especially if the rule applies to everyone above $100M. Sure, someone will get taxed and his net worth will be $175M with the tax instead of $200M without the tax if his asset is doubled, but it is still damn good.
