Watch all videos - playlist kzbin.info/aero/PLmz2QxbXLPGQaN9z12hwoxxqQz4YvIf87 Note - To have a proper idea about our traditions and rituals of the New Year, please turn on the subtitles on your own language | අලුත් අවුරුද්ද තරම් ප්‍රීතිමත් දවසක් කුඩා අවදියෙ අපට තිබුනෙ නැ. අලුත් ඇඳුම් අදින්න ලැබෙන, එක එක ජාතියෙ කෑම් බීම් වලින් සප්පායම් වෙන්න ලැබෙන, නෑදැ හැමෝම එක තැනකට එක්කාසුවෙන මේ තරම් ලස්සන දවසක් තිබුන නම් ඒ ඉතින් අලුත් අවුරුදු දවසම තමයි. ⁣ඒ අතීතයෙ දවස් යලි යලි සිහිපත් වෙන්නෙ මේ විදියට කැවුම් කොකිස් බැදගෙන, කෙසෙල් කැන් ඉදවගෙන අලුත් අවුරුද්දට ලෑස්තිවෙද්දි තමයි. වැට අයින්වල එරබදු ගස්වල ගින්දර පාටට පිපිච්ච මල් පොකුරු, කොහෝ කොහෝ සද්දෙන් ඇහෙන කොහාගෙ කෝකිල නාදය, සුළඟට මුසුවෙලා හමන කැවුම් කොකිස් බැදෙන සුවඳ, දෙමොලෙන් පිටි කොටද්දි ඇහෙන ඩිහ් ඩිහ් සද්දෙ, අස්වනු කපා පාගල ඉතුරුවුන පිදුරු කඳු කුඹුරු වල තැන තැන ගොඩ ගැහිල තියෙන දර්ශනය අපිට අලුත් අවුරුදු අතලඟ බව මතක් කරල දෙනවා. උදෙන්ම තෙත හාල් කොටල පිටි ඒදල ගත්ත නිසා දවල් වෙද්දි කොණ්ඩ කැවුම් ටික හදල ඉවර කරගත්තා. කොණ්ඩ කැවුමක් කියන්නෙ වාත්තු කරල හදන කුඩා මැටි පිළිමයක් වගේ. එකින් එකට අවදානය යොමු කරල හදන කැමක්. කාන්තාවක් ඉස්මුදුනට කරල කොණ්ඩෙ ගෙඩියක් ගහන හැ⁣ඩේ මේ රස කැවිල්ලට ලැබෙන නිසා තමයි කොණ්ඩ කැවුම් කියන්නෙ. තෙලට වක්කරන පිටි මිශ්‍රනේ වටේට තෙලෙන් බැදෙද්දි ඉරටුවකින් ඒක මැද හිල් කරල, යන්තමින් හැන්දෙන් තෙරපන ගමන් මැද තියෙන අමු පිටි මිශ්‍රණය එලියට අරගෙන තෙල් වලින් නාවන ගමන් බැදගැනීම තමයි කැවුමක් හදන සාස්තරේ. එක අතකින් කූර තාලෙට නටවන ගමන් අනිත් අතින් හැන්ද අල්ලගෙන තෙල් ගහන එක තමයි අමාරුම වැඩේ. මොකද අපිට අත් දෙකෙන් වැඩ දෙකක් එකසැරේට කරන්න වෙනවා. කැවුම් හදල ඉවරවලා මම මුං කැවුම් මිශ්‍රණය හදනකල් අත්තම්මා කොකිස් බැද්දා. ඉතිරි කරගත්ත කොකිස් මිශ්‍රනේම දවටල තමයි මුං කැවුම් හදාගත්තෙ. නොනගතේ පටන් අරන් පන්සල් යන්න කලින් ඉක්මන් කරල ලිපේ අලු ටික අස්කරල අලුතන් ගොමමැටි ගාල ලිප අලුත් කරගත්තා. මල්ලිත් අත්තම්මා එක්ක එකතුවෙලා අවුරුදු කුමාරයට ආරාධනා පහන තියන්න පහන්පැල හදල තිබුණා. පහුවෙනිදා පාන්දර අ⁣පේ සාම්ප්‍රදායික අලුත් අවුරුද්ද උදා වුනා. එදා දවසෙ කරන කියන හැම වැඩකටම සුබ වෙලාවක් වෙන්කරල තියෙනවා. අලුත් කරගත්ත ලිපට අලුතෙන්ම ගිනි මොලවලා කිරිබතක් හදාගන්න එක තමයි පළමු සිරිත. අවුරුද්දට කලින් නෙලාගත්ත අස්වනුවලින් ගත්ත හාල් වලින් තමයි කිරිබත හදා ගන්නෙ. ඒ මොහොතෙම ගේ මැද සාලෙ ලිපක් බැඳල කිරිමුට්ටියකුත් උතුරවන සිරිතක් ඇතැමුන් අතර තියෙනවා. ඒ කිරි ඉතිරීම සෞභාග්‍යමත් සලකුණක් නිසයි. අලුත් අවුරුද්දෙ ළිඳත් එක්ක ගණු දෙනු කරන තුරු වෙනත් කිසිම ගණු දෙනුවක් කරන සිරිතක් නැ. කුළු බඩු, හාල්, ලුණු වගේ අපේ මුලුතැන්ගේ තියෙන අඩුම කුඩුම තඹ කාසියකුත් එක්ක එක පොදියක ගැට ගහල ඒක වතුරබොන ලිඳට දාල අලුතෙන් වතුර කලයක් ගෙට ගන්න එක තමයි ළිඳත් එක්ක කරන ගණු දෙනුව. අත්තම්ම ඒ පොට්ටෙනියට කියන්නෙ අලේ පොදිය කියල. අවුරුද්ද උදාවෙන මොහොතේත් ඊට පස්සෙ එළඹෙන හැම නැකතකම වගේ රබන් ගහන, රතිඤ්ඤා පත්තුකරන, පන්සලේ ඝනඨාරෙ නාදකරන සිරිතක් තිබෙනවා. අධික ශබ්ධ කිරීමෙන් යමක් සන්නිවේදනය කිරීමේ හැකියාව වගේම මෙවැනි සුබ කටයුතුවලට තිබෙන වස්දොස් සහ අත්භූත ඇල්ම බැල්ම ආදිය දුරුකර ගැනීමත් සම්ප්‍රදායික ගැමියන් අපේක්ෂා කලා. මෙදා අවුරුදු නැකතට අදින්න හොදම පාට විදියට කියල තියෙන්නෙ ⁣පලාවන් පැහැය. ඒ කියන්නෙ කොලපාට. ඒ නිසා තමයි අපි හැමෝම හරිත පාටට ලංවෙන ඇඳුම් ඇන්දෙ. අලුත් අවුරුද්දෙ ඉස් ඉස්සෙල්ලම ගෙට ගොඩ වුනේ ලොකු අම්මයි සුදු නංගියි. අත්තම්මට බුලත් දීල වදින්න අලුත් චීත්ත රෙදි කැල්ලකුත් අරගෙන ලොකු අම්ම නොවරදාවාම අවුරුදු නැකතට ගෙදරට එනවාමයි. හැම පාරම වගේ මේ පාරත් ලොකු අම්මා ආස්මි හදන් ඇවිත්. මේ පාර පැණිපාට ආස්මි හදල තියෙන්නෙ සුදු නංගිලුනෙ. ඒව කැතයි කියල අවුරුදු මේසෙදි අපේ මල්ලි නොක්කාඩු කතාවකුත් කියල එයාගෙ හිත රිද්දුවදත් මන්ද. කැවුම් කොකිස් මුංකැවුම් හදන්න කලින් මම හැම ජාතියම කලින් හදල තියා ගත්තා. හැම ජාතියෙන්ම පිරුණු අවුරුදු මේසයක තමයි අපේ ජාතියෙත් සංස්කෘතියෙත් රසවත් අනන්‍යතාවය සැඟවිලා තියෙන්නෙ. ඉතින් අත්තම්ම පහන් පත්තුකරල අවුරුදු මේසය ආලෝකමත් කලා. හැමෝටම ආදරෙන් කිරිබත් කටක් කවල කෑම මේසෙ ඉඳුල් කලා. අපේ මල්ලිත් හිතේ හැටියට කැවිලි පිඟන් දෙකක්ම කාල අවුරුදු මේසෙම රහ බැලුවා. ලොකු අම්මත් ඔය කියනව ඇහුනෙ, මල්ලිට නම් අවුරුදු ජය පාටයි කියල. ඉතින් මගේ පැතුමත් ඔයාල හැමෝටම ලැබූ අලුත් අවුරුද්ද ජයෙන් ජයම වෙන රසින් රසම වෙන කිරියෙන් පැණියෙන් උතුරලයන සුබම සුබ අලුත් අවුරුද්දක් වෙන්න කියලයි. ආදරයෙන් නදී🌺

I don't even know how many times I watched this video from the date of upload. Firstly this is so relaxing and apart from all those. Lets think why we are so addicted to this!! In every homes in sri lanka they made oil cakes and festival sweets for new year. But this is so special. That is becasue of the extra colour the team has added to this. Yeah Sri Lankan cuisine is influenced a lot by the Malay and Javanese cuisines this is because many centuries ago, people of Malay and Javanese descent settled in Sri Lanka and introduced a lot of dishes that were originally inspired by dishes that originated in Southeast Asia.

@@anshkadesilva2399 No I'm not. I'm of Sri Lankan descent as well. Sambol, kaha bath (yellow rice), seenakku, wattalapan, lamprais, dodol, achcharu and so on are all of Malay and Javanese origin. They came with the settlement of Sri Lankan Malay people. Batik, redde and hatte dress of Sinhalese women, rabana which is played during Sinhala and Tamil New Year, sarama, the ancient outrigger canoe and sampans (which are now disappearing because of modernisation) are all things introduced by the Malays and Javanese. Slave Island in Colombo and Hambantota are key areas of Malay settlement in Sri Lanka. You will be able to find Sinhalese people in Hambantota who can speak Malay and converse with the Sri Lankan Malay community in Hambantota district. It's a real shame that in Sri Lanka, due to racial tensions and violence nobody realises how much each of Sri Lanka's ethnic groups (Sinhalese, Tamils, Malays, Burghers, Moors etc.) influenced one another. I think a lot of Sinhalese people in Sri Lanka wrongly believe they created a lot of these dishes and things that are part of Sri Lankan culture.
