Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how Nami does more in her tiny kitchen with a tiny stove, barely an oven or prep space, small refrigeration, etc. than most world-class chefs!!!! BUT still manages to turn out nutritious, colorful, appetizing dishes day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year! I’m amazed, impressed and grateful, my dear Nami♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Sincerely, a true fan in Daphne, AL US😚

I don’t think Nami’s fridge is small, but she does do a lot in a tiny kitchen. She told us once that in her last place she had only one burner so she’s thrilled now to have two. 😎🇬🇧🇺🇸

When I was 25, I lived alone for about 3 years. My apartment was bigger than yours, but it was much smaller than the typical apartments in my area. I loved it! Living in a smaller apartment meant I only bought/kept things that were actually important or necessary. I had everything organized and knew where anything was when I needed it. Now that I’m married and have kids and live in a much bigger house, I feel frustrated with the lack of organization and intention behind the stuff we accumulate. I feel it’s always a mess here that is somewhat out of my control because I can’t do something over and over a hundred times a day now that I have chronic pain. I wouldn’t change anything about the life I have now (except the pain) but I do still think about the time I lived alone in fondness. It reminds me that I was and still am independent and capable. I think everyone should live alone for a while if they can afford it (it’s a lot harder now than 20 years ago when I did for sure) because it teaches you things about yourself you can’t ever learn if you live with others. It valuable to see what you’re capable of alone and how you get by fine with just yourself and your own ingenuity. Very rewarding.

I love Nami’s attention to every single detail- like the adorable tiny carrots on the carrot cake! Her meals are prepared with such care, lovingly and she does that all for herself. I’m learning a lot from Nami and I’m 61! She has mastered the art of living humbly but richly and I admire her a lot. ♥️

Your vlog is so inspirational. Your carrot cake made my mouth water! Nami, you make your food prep look so effortless, and I wonder how much planning goes into it. So nice to find some fresh veggies and let them be your guide to planning your meals. Summertime in Midwestern USA we have farmers' markets, which bring fresh veggies and fruits from the farms to our neighborhoods. It's also nice to go out to our backyard garden for some greens and herbs. Have a great week.

For those that are uncertain when selecting a watermelon: you can test how ripe it is by the sound as Nami indicated. You want a nice loud hollow "thunk". To get the sweetest watermelon you want to look for an "ugly" one with a nice big white spot. That white spot is where the melon sat on the ground and ripened on the vine for a long time which makes for the absolute sweetest melon you will ever eat. Oooo now I really want some watermelon! (^_^) Oh and those guidelines apply for all melons as well. Even those with a naturally pale or white rind like cantaloupe. You can look for "veins" to tell which melons were vine ripened if you have trouble discerning a significant pale spot.

Moro no Brasil, sou brasileira.
