This video demonstrates how to quickly prepare a simple, but nutritious meal from leftover Nsima with eggs and cooking oil. It further demonstrates how to prepare a similar meal with eggs, cooking oil and pumpkin flowers. This video was created based on a field demonstration by Agricultural Extension workers from the Linthipe Extension Planning Area in the Dedza District of Malawi. It was shown to farm families in the region in a series of screenings in July of 2014 as part of a pilot test of participatory videos as a tool for smallholder farmer training. This effort was conducted by researchers from Michigan State University and the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) working with the USAID funded Global Center for Food Systems Innovation.

I am from the USA 🇺🇸 and l had the privilege of visiting Malawi 🇲🇼 in 2018. I had the opportunity to travel to some of the villages and see the way of life of the local people . I plan to return sometime and set up a foundation to benefit parts of the rural communities.

The guy didn't remove his shoes when he sat on the mat. I thought that was quite rude when the two ladies had taken the trouble to remove their shoes.

Very good innovation guys. I was wondering why/how the word 'nyama' was brought in the context. Otherwise this has potential to solve absenteeism that comes due to hunger amongst school going kids.
