Well Cole, Tiff is definitely a keeper. It looks like she only has one cat. My 10 year old daughter and wife of 23 years apparently thought I said Cat farming. They only hear what they want to. Well, we did not have temperatures that low in NJ. We did have a couple of gates like those hee, hated them, I could never get enough pull on then to flip the loop over the post to shut the. WE also used the bucket trick with the (dairy) cows although we did not have a treat for them when the cows came running. The pasture in front of the barns and house was about a football field in depth out to the road. We had several exceptionally intelligent heifers who could pick their way through a three strand barb wire fence, not breaking any of the strands. they would casually look both ways to see if cars were coming and then head to the neighbor's lawn for a snack. We discovered that banging on a metal pail would bring the back with out us having to go over and get them. Stay warm! Looks like we might be getting rain when the storm reaches us in Eastern PA.

Oh Cole! You seem to fight the elements every day!! I feel so sorry for you! I grew up near Lancaster, Penna. The winters were bitter to me. Dad was always fighting the elements! We have been "suffering" through numerous winter storms here too. One of em dumped nearly FOUR inches of snow on us. TERRIBLE!! Blinding snow for over twenty minutes!! I was kinda happy they were wrong myself.. Hope your preparations were not all required. Well done nonetheless!! The cattle may or may not appreciate it, but Ya done good!! Great to see Tiffany working so well in the family. Way to go girl!!

Your comment about the Artesian well never freezing reminded me of the story about the guy who bought his first tractor. The dealer went over all the service details with him and the next spring the guy came into the dealership pulling his tractor with his horses. The block was cracked and leaking. The dealer asked him what kind of antifreeze he used and the guy said he had a creek next to the barn that never froze so he just used some of that water in the radiator.

We're racing around here trying to get ready for heavy snow, blowing and drifting and near 50-60 below zero wind chills. YIKES! Sure hope this next storm system misses you guys.
