In this video I'm bringing you with me as I try to make Christmas in my home, by decorating and baking and making it a little cozy. While fighting a cold at the same time things got a little more messier than I thought, but I had a lot of fun while doing this, and I hope it can bring you a smile on your face and a little more Christmas feelings in your heart :)

I laughed along with you when you realized your recipe may not turn out as planned! I have had MANY of those moments myself over the years. Even if the buns weren't as tasty as they could have been, they were very lovely to look at! You and your husband are bright lights in this world for sure. I've been a chef most of my life and a baker for about half my career...I have never enjoyed watching someone bake as much as I've enjoyed watching you now. It brings me back to times and reasons why we spend time in the kitchen especially during the holidays...it's the joy and fun of just making something wonderful. I so grateful to the girl that bagged my groceries a few years back and told me about this channel. Ever since I get these rare moments of enchantment. If ever there was a place that lends itself to the beauty of Christmas decorating it is this far away , mystical woods where we find Jonna and her loving husband. So true, i am the same. I came across her channel looking for sounds to listen and found her ice cracking sounds. Then her energy sucked me in and I was sat, just watching in awe at how beautiful and glowing her soul is, there is nothing but positivity her videos have been to me. We call those cloves. Carnations are flowers 🌸 in English. We don’t have a tradition for the cloves in the oranges 🍊, but I see them in magazines and old postcards. We do drink 🍹 those two ingredients together!... With other spices. We call it orange spice tea. Maybe I will start decorating with the oranges and cloves as you do in Sweden. They must smell amazing 🎄

My great grandmother was from Sweden and we still make her Christmas bun recipe every Christmas eve. They are the tastiest buns in the whole world and are made with cardamom. Cardamom is one of those spices that remind me of Christmas. Hope you are feeling better and had a lovely holiday season, Jonna!

Im laying in bed extremely sick with covid, just trying to eat soup. This virus almost killed me the first time I had it 2 years ago. It also set off many chronic autoimmune illnesses in my body which I suffer daily from. Just want you all to know how dear your videos are to us. I hope you are recovering well. I'm sorry you've had such a tough time with COVID and then the illnesses and conditions that it triggered. It's absolutely awful. I also suffer from health issues, mainly pain and COVID has been a huge concern of mine. Haven't gotten it, but wondering if exposure/asymptomatic COVID is what triggered mine as well. Jonna's videos are what brings me peace and happiness VERY often when I am down and bed bound or just mentally done. 🙂 She's such a positive light in the darkness. We put orange peels, cloves and cinnamon sticks in a pan with shallow water on the stove and simmer to make the house smell like Christmas in the house!! It’s SO good to see you again. I am so sorry for your loss of your father. I also have lost both of my parents over the past two years and the holidays just don't feel quite the same. However, I am now creating new memories with the family that I have left. Such as my siblings and grandkids and nieces and nephews. Like you said, they are still with you here in spirit. I love your winter videos Jonna. Living in the warmer part of the world we never experience this except on a rare holiday, if at all. This heavy winter feels like an abyss of a very different kind of life...like it has an ancient voice of nature. Me too, after 2 years I have that mood. My beloved father died two years ago shortly before Christmas and I was feeling like I will never be happy again. And now, suddenly I enjoy everything about Christmas. From listening to Christmas songs since november to buying new decorations... I experienced more downtime this winter than I have my whole adult life. My 14 year old daughter has been learning Swedish. My grandmother came to the US when she was 13. My brother has celebrated Santa Lucia for years. We started having friends over and making the saffron buns and pepporkakkor and glug. (Sorry for misspellings).
