Hi Cowboys, the wind never bothers me. I’d rather have the wind than not have your videos. I love your videos. It’s like I’m taking a trip away. Thank you for that. Hopefully the cows won’t come back down after you get them gathered up there. I’ll watch most anything you put out. My favorites tho is when you have the family together and I see my favorites lil Cowboys. Thank you for the video.

My kind of saddle. Appreciate the larger swells and the higher cantle - make them good for long days. That horse had some training and obviously had some tough going. Should settle down well with your quiet approach.

When I fixed water gaps the wire fence part was up high and I'd hang logs off the bottom wire so the cows couldn't go under but when the creek flooded the logs would float up and hopefully not take out the water gap.

Happy New Year 1880 Drifters. Besides Saddles do you guys do other leather work as well? Do you guys give Salt to your horses? Its amazing cattle can live, survive, and thrive on the desert. You guys should get a ranch horse from the Painted Desert Ranch in Arizona. They are another You Tube channel. Are you guys going to do the rest of the Giveaway of your Jackets and Vests like you said you were a couple of weeks ago? Another day Ranching and Riding for the Brand on the 1880 Drifters and 3 Bars Ranch. Your cattle look good and healthy. I heard a wise Horseman once said with young horses they need Long Rides, Wet Saddle Pads and Concentrated Training. Beautiful country there in Southeast Utah.

How is the Mustang horse doing
@fleetskipper1810Күн бұрын
Phenomenal landscape, great family times. One question: how far in one day are cows apt to wander away from where they’re supposed to be? Would it take one day, one week, etc. for them to get that far away?
@shawnjack8092Күн бұрын
Hi, thanks for the question if they are in the traveling mode, they can go 5 plus miles no problem. The cows we got on this video took several days to go the 10 miles. We have days that we move them 10 plus miles. I have seen them go back over night, especially if they have left their calf behind. Thanks for watching.

I also was interested in the saddle making. Thanks. What are the chances of your grandsons walking to close to a rattlesnake, or are there none. You men rope and ride as good or even better than rodeo riders. Handle that lariat really good.
@fleetskipper1810Күн бұрын
I’m guessing it’s too cold for rattlesnakes to be very dangerous this time of year.
@shawnjack8092Күн бұрын
Hi Thanks for the question. Fleet skipper is right, we do not see snakes until it starts to warm up over 65 degrees during the day. And yes, it is a concern. Where we have our spring camp, we see rattle snakes on a regular basis. We always do a sweep of the area when we get into camp before we let the dogs and kids run around. We also do lots of educating the little ones about snakes. Personally I don't like them! I get rid of them as fast as we find them.

Just a point of interest is that a slighster bit that you are using on the new horse???
@shawnjack809213 сағат бұрын
yes, a solid bit with a roller. He really likes it. We tried several things and ended up with this bit.
