HUGE congratulations man!! I had the same surgery just under a year ago and it has literally been the best decision of my life! TIPS! -I chugged a bottle of water right before I had to stop drinking and it made me so nauseous that when I got super anxious in the car I threw up so maybe take it a little easy on that haha. -The drains are pretty much the most uncomfortable part of it all and after you get them out you'll immediately feel about 20% better -It doesn't really hurt to get them out, but it does feel pretty weird! -When I could take a shower/bath it was way more slippery than I anticipated and I wasn't able to push myself with my arms, and lowering myself was difficult. Just be sure you have someone nearby to help you just in case. -The pineapple juice I got was AWFUL so I ended up not drinking any and did fine so there's hope for you haha -My doctor did leave some chest tissue in there for sculpting and I freaked out a little when I first saw it. Like when I leaned over and brought my arms in there was tissue pushed together and it was giving me a bit of dysphoria. There will be swelling for a bit and once I calmed down I remembered that all guys have, like, muscle and body fat on their chests and I am super chill with it now. -The little crease you have under your chest tissue will stick around for a few weeks but will fade. -They will most likely use nerve blockers on your chest which will bring everything down to the level that your meds will work just fine. There was about an inch on my left side where the numbing hadn't taken and that wasn't so hot but take it slow and call your doctor if you're concerned. -I freaked out when my nipple grafts scabbed over and stayed like that for a bit but about the time the stitches started dissolving was when the scabs came off when I picked at them gently. Just don't force it. -Be sure to change clothes and wash sheets and bedding to keep from feeling like a little grease ball haha. -Your emotions may be running high and you'll be hurting so be sure to communicate when you need some space or need some alone time. For me it was my very very sweet sister who was helping me most of the time and I just needed to not feel like a medical patient for a bit. Alright that was a lot! Feel free to disregard anything! Gets lots of rest and again! Congratulations man!! (Also I love your friends cane! I use one too!)

Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos. I recently rediscovered your channel and have been BINGE watching it because of the pure joy you bring me with your content. Its silly, it makes me laugh but I also feel like I'm learning so much- not only factual information but also to have hope again and faith in myself and things maybe turning out alright. Sat here recovering from top surgery myself and so excited for you!!! Tips I can think of right now, practice butt scooching, a highly underrated skill when you have trex arms and can’t put weight on elbows. You’ll need more pillows, no more than that, plus two more. Seriously… Vests with huge arm holes are epic. Wipes are sooooooo good. Don’t rush getting back to normal, the fatigue will kick your ass, enjoy the down time while you can. Hypercal cream helps healing and helps minimise scars 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Cool packs 👌🏻 🍀🍀🍀 got everything crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 that feeling the first time you can put your hand on your chest and there’s nothing in the way is beyond words 😭🥳💛 Edit to add I have litter picker grabbers all over the house cos I am a litter picker, having them all over the house has been soooooo helpful 👌🏻👌🏻🤞🏻

4:48 you / anyone having surgery soon can also probably use one of those runners backpack water bladders because you'd just need to lift the tube to your mouth & you'd just be able to have about 2 liters of water beside you for the day
