Wish I could just take a scalpel to my chest myself. I asked my dog if she could perform surgery and she farted.

I had a spine surgery a few months ago and I’d recommend these tips for spine surgery too :)

Also some people's ability to focus takes a blow after surgery. For the first week I really struggled to read a sentence. Thankfully after 3 weeks I was mostly back to normal

My surgery date is January 23rd, I can't express how grateful how I am that you've posted this, this info is the info I've been angrily googling for years and only finding Breast Cancer recovery sites.

I was in surgery for six hours when I had spine surgery, and I was so thirsty. I was really impatient aswell (I was in a lot of pain (morphine, paracetamol, and ibruprofen all at once)). But I wasn’t allowed to drink for the first 12 hours (because it was a hazard because I couldn’t sit up). So all I could do was use one of those horrible medical sponges to suck on and then get actual liquid. But then at about 3 in the morning I was allowed to drink, I could sleep because it was high dependency (one step down from intensive care) so lots of machines, and I was in much pain. So I had one cup of blackcurrent, and one of orange on one of those funny tables with straws in and drank about 3 cups of each in 4 hours. I had one nice nurse so she got me it so my parents could sleep. COMPLETELY AWESOME PERSON. Get earplugs because you will nap, so you can block out the noise if you need to sleep.

Yes, stool softeners! If you are prone to constipation anyway, get your GP to prescribe you some. You really don't want to have to deal with that on top of the discomfort from surgery

I was in orchestra the other day, and my teacher put on a video on KZbin. An ad popped up. IT WAS THE AD WITH THE PERSON SORTING THE PEAS. *I SAW THE PEAS.*

Yes! The Ocean at the End of the Lane is so good I second Ashton’s recommendation. It made me feel lots of things which is what I look for in books. I don’t see top surgery in my future at this moment in time but the video was still very interesting to watch. Also Ashton you are wearing a non black shirt today without a jacket on top! This is a rare occurrence. Thank you for all the effort you put into these videos! -Eli

Oh shit, this video got me thinking about something. I sleep on my sides or stomach because sleeping on my back makes it hard to breath and can make sleep paralysis happen more frequently but I can imagine that sleeping the way I normally do isn't gonna be an option. Does anyone else have that happen to them and does anyone have any advice for avoiding sleep paralysis and making it easier to breath while laying on your back?

I got top surgery five days ago and I slept for two hours last night thanks to itchiness. I’ve been taking Benadryl and tons of different things but it’s so itchy and painful. Is there anything I can do about this?
