Awesome as always and I don't know about anyone else but, I'd love to see a luxurious Taller Hut with tiled roof and floor and a separate roofed stacked clay brick pantry with huge large vases with food in them and water vases and arts and crafts in the hut. Like, weaving of cloth and creating working sleds and wheel barrels and wood peg systems and making a log into a canoe and eating fish with the Palo Verde beans and mesquite pods and when they come back the Fruits of the desert cactus and so much more. It's so wonderful. I really love the potential of this series and this channel. I can't help but to run my mouth with ideas. I'm just so happy every time I get to enter and be there with Chad in this exciting world.

Chad, another great vid ! I learned a food preservation tip that you might want to try some time. It's called Ever Stew. When you cook something in a pot, like fish or squirrel or veggies and don't eat it all you can keep it from spoiling by boiling it for 10 min. every day in cold weather, and twice a day in hot weather. You just keep adding leftovers too the pot. it will never go bad. it is a good way to extract nutrients from bones, and the flavors of several meals will infuse the mix in the pot.. Once again, really enjoy your video's. I live Vicariously through your efforts, and I'm sure many others do too. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into sharing with us.
@ChadZuberAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I actually have been doing that for years. With my family we would cook a big pot of food, leave it on the stove for days and just heat it up a few times a day to serve a bowl to eat.

I was sitting outside tonight and had a thought just for you Chad. Have you considered crocheting a hat, mitt from the cordage? I was thinking that a simple single stitch would work very well and you can make a hook out of a stick and scrap it to size with a rock. The one thing that I was thinking is that the cordage could be used later down the road. Its very easy to learn how to crochet. It might even help you with nets and other things? let me know what you think.
@ChadZuberAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've thought about learning to crochet several times. I'm actually making yarn for clothing. I need a lot of yarn and it takes a lot of time to make. I'm open to all ideas regarding crocheting.
@kameljoe212 жыл бұрын
@@ChadZuberAdventures crochet is very simple. You can do it by hand as well. Some nets and stuff were made this way. Once you do it a few times it does not take long to get used to it. If you stick to the most basic stitches such as the chain, slip and single you can make pretty much anything you want. The hooks are pretty easy to fashion. It does take some time to make the hook and find the right size for your cordage. Though I think this could be done with some sticks, a few stones and a broken edge stone. Mostly it would be sanding and shaping the hook end. Even if the project does not pan out it could be a handy skill for making a net, quick bag, and other things.

Chad, It is so good to see you are doing well! I love your tiles! Very swanky :P You should make a plan with those wild pigs you have there. If you know of a plant that produces a salt, you already have a fire to cure and smoke it or you could dry and store the meat. The process itself is easy to do, only lengthy. The easiest way would be to dry it the same way South Africans make Biltong. That would be interesting to see. They don't seem that difficult to trap if you execute it well.
@ChadZuberAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am thinking of ways to trap or hunt those javelinas. I haven't found salt here but I'll keep an eye out for it.
@suzywilson2 жыл бұрын
@@ChadZuberAdventures That would be awesome to have a stash of meat! Rock salts might also work. If you track those javelinas you also might find where they have a slat lick. That will lead you to a rock salt. I found that salt-tolerant plants accumulate an excess of salt in certain parts of them. The only desert plant I could find where you might be is Pistacia chinensis. If you would like a Biltong recipe, I will gladly send you one 😄

Another great peek into your life! I'm glad the roof kept you warm and dry. Maybe eventually you can hunt a Javelina (which I admit I had never heard of until 12 minutes ago when I watched your video.) You can dry and smoke the meat and find hundreds of uses for the carcass. Appreciate the content, Chad!

Yeah, everything is working well. And the javelina were a great bonus. I hope to find them again.

@@ChadZuberAdventures I'm wondering if you can "bait" them with palo verde beans? Start to get them closer on a regular basis?

It looks like you need to become a bowyer too now to hunt some javelina, Juniper is also a good bow wood, and raw hide makes for a good bow backing. I would love to see you hunt primal style, with a bow :D
@ChadZuberAdventures Жыл бұрын
I’m actually working on making a couple of bows. I want to be proficient before I make videos about it.

@@ChadZuberAdventures Thats exciting to hear! there are lots of great tutorials on youtube explaining hhow to tiller a bow properly which I expect to give you most the trouble if I had to guess. Keep at it, im sure you will pull off something memorable :)

have you thought about making a cistern to collect water in. i know it would take some work digging then lining it with clay and firing it in place to harden it, but it could give you another water source . sorry if i seam odd for asking, im just wondering. i like watching your videos and i love learning new things. stay warm and have a good day.

Yeah, there are a thousand projects I want to do. It takes time. My main work is making videos.

Nice tile mine never came out so square so I made mine octangle seemed stronger with eight sides bees build with this shape so why wouldn't I. made for a clean surface. and easier to get around other shapes. wish I would have documented my stuff like you did yours I would show you.
@ChadZuberAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Eight-sided.... That sounds like a really good idea. The square shape is definitely easier to make but the corners would be weaker than yours.

You should make one massive clay basin or ground guttering into a central basin for rain collection.
@ChadZuberAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's definitely a good idea. I will look for a good place to do that.
