Wow, who knew the plastic nails would off gas? Dodged a terrible bullet there, I love your description of a boat with a terrible case of measles! That knee is gorgeous, whoever sleeps in that quarter berth will have something special to look at it with wonder! Most rudders are ruddy but yours…sheesh, a beauty!!!!

Brings back alot of memories watching you guys fairing the hull, we used to have a fairing party for that task, 8 guys or so with long boards we would work our way around the hull in 30 minute intervals then every one would shift one position and around we would go, we could get a 40’ hull done in 2 days, looking good! Cheers

Damn. Filling divots is never a fun time; instead of epoxying at night, off-gassing can also be prevented just by timing the work to either the hottest part of the day or just as the temps start to drop. The only places you could see bubbles might be between strakes where you could have holidays/voids, otherwise once sealed wood shouldn’t continue to release air. Absolutely love what you both do. Cheers!

That’s going to be one stiff hull. I was tempted to do my hull (cold-molded) but decided to go traditional. Partly because it’s a traditionally build Concordia Yawl, so a restoration, but it has frames every 9 inches or so so it would have some serious over building
