Hey, the main thing is have some snacks. They're very friendly rats, squirrels and pigeons. Trust me you'll feel bad if you don't have something for them. Especially the cute squirrels cause they stand on their legs and beg with their tiny arms and it's heartbreaking.😊

I went to NY two weeks ago and your channel help me so much.. my tips I learn 1) bring a portable battery charger because you most like be out all day and taking pics video… *Bonus tip clear storage space for videos/pics 2) try budget in at least one of two rides share instead subway that way you see the city while you get your location.. Revel was very good because they have Tesla and you can see buildings threw the rooftop of car 3. Use restrooms when you can especially if it’s place you paid for a item.. Not a lot clean public restrooms in city 4. Leave room to walk & explore. I found so many cool places because I decided to walk 5.. Go to NY with a postive mindset that “everyone is kind and nice to me everywhere I go” often we hear bad things about places and we go in with that mindset” I felt safe and everyone was so helpful and nice.. Yes you might get ignored and you have factor in some people might night understand your language because they only speaks theirs..

5:27 the line for legitimate yellow cabs at LaGuardia is not at all obvious when you exit the airport. You have to go all the way to the forward end of the Arrivals section and then cross the street and go behind a wall. Anybody looking to ride a yellow cab from LGA, you have to follow the signs and go across the road. If you can't find the taxi line, ask a uniformed airport employee.

I'm from central/eastern Europe where average middle class wage is around 1200€/month. We love to travel so I'm in charge of budgeting our trips. I went in 2019 to NYC with my mom for two weeks. The whole trip (including airbnb in Jersey, fly tickets, 10 days NY pass, food, public transport, ubers, NFL game and little cash) cost us about 2500€ for both. I love low budget travelling! Next time we would definitely pay more and stay in Manhattan but besides that it was great!!!

Sarah As a person who likes trains and takes the Subway to work as well as Rangers games. At a Subway station on the platform go to the middle of the platform and look for a striped bar and cameras. That is where the conductor is or go to the front of the station that is where the motor man is . They have 2 way radios to contact dispatchers who can notify NYPD or FDNY or other MTA issues. Summer weather is coming. Wear shorts or light clothes. Be careful for Severe weather. In NYC the weather changes fast.The National Weather Service sends out watches and warnings via the cell phone.

I went to NYC in 2014 with my graduating class and I remember being surprised at just how much walking we did. I wore relatively comfy shoes but my feet were definetly killing me at the end of every single day. The bottoms of shoes were worn entirely by the end of the trip (they were cheap shoes) and to this day I don't think I have done that much walking since! 😅

If you're used to driving everywhere, NYC can be exhausting for you walking everywhere. Wear sneakers or shoes that give you plenty of support. Subways and buses are safe most all the time. Taking the subway in the middle of the night and walking through parks in the middle of the night is NOT safe. Simple things that will make you much more comfortable in NYC are carrying and using ear plugs to protect your hearing and carrying a washcloth to wash your face whenever you can. If you're going to live shows and into museums, carry a sweater and a scarf, just in case the AC makes you feel much too cold.

When I was walking out of Newark a dude asked me if I wanted to go to manhattan. I asked him to just prove he’s a real Uber driver and he showed me his app, his license and his car sticker. He agreed 50 bucks and I gave him 70 as that was my budget for travel from airport to hotel. Dude was super nice and had no issue whatsoever with proving who he was to put me at ease so I’d say don’t be afraid to ask for proof and negotiate. His fort offer was £80. I told him I was quoted 50 and he was totally cool with that. Like I said i gave him 70. My guy just dropped people off and didn’t wanna head back to city empty.

The no cash needed part in the beginning is 100% not true. There are tons of places I’ve been that have signs saying cash only. I went to three restaurants in Chinatown that were cash only. I’ve been to bodegas and corner stores that have a 12 dollar or more minimum purchase before you can use credit. Plus much more. I suggest always having at least 40 dollars in your pocket each day just in case. You never know when cash will be needed.

I have been to New York during summer vacation with my. All in all New York is of course a stunning City. But when you go theyre as a tourist, what travel platforms dont tell you is that New York is far away from perfect. When i got theyre I was shocked. The street of our hotel is not one of the busiest ones and as soon as you get away from the main streets, you get to experiense the bad side of New York to. Every 100 meters or so you see people laying on the Street. Someone of them are begging others just "accept" theyre faith. From day one I felt so unconfortable. I mean it cant be true that this is suppost to be normal. What shocked me even more is that homeless people dont make up the higher amount of people in the city and still nobody even cares. People just ignore them. Everybody is busy theyre. But the homeless people are even present on the biggest streets with probaly thousands of people walking past them every day. And still not much people care. All the people around me had no eye for them and I felt like i am the only one who even cares. I felt like I had to do something. Even small things can make a change. For example we homeless people near our street holding the door of a seven eleven shop. One time we gave one of them a bit. On another day we gave a street artist at time square money.OneAnother time in central Park. At one day we had a especially hearth breaking moment. we had been in an imbiss and they gave us three kiwis for free. Me and my parents werent hungry anymore and we desided to give them to a homeless person together with a spoon and a knife. We ended up giving it to a mother with a child who had a sign that asked for food. I was happy to see how much she liked. On one evening. I literally had a breakdown and I cried because I just wasnt able to hold it back anymore. I really felt alone in this situation because I felt like i am the only one who cares around. What world are we living in where this is suppost to be completely normal. If this is suppost to be the city where dreams come true then i dont wanna know how the situation is in other really big citys around the world. So if you read this comment and you life or go to New York or another big city then be human and do something for people in need. If the politicians dont do something then we have to stand up and help those people. If everybody does small things like this examples we can change a lot.

In your thumbnail it looks like you are advising people not to go the Empire State Building. Personally, I've been there a couple of times and well, maybe I'm jaded, but for me the lobby is much more impressive than going to the top of the Empire State. The art deco design is spectacular. So, even if you don't go to the top, still check out the lobby. And are there tours of the Chrysler Building? That skyscraper has always intrigued me. I would love to explore it too.

We literally just got back and yeah we totally under estimated how expensive NYC really is. You could totally do it on a budget but it could still end up costing more compared to a full budget vacation anywhere else. You’d also be missing out on a lot what that city has to offer. Everywhere we went there were cool bakeries, drink places, restaurants etc. We saw the MJ Broadway show and that alone was $420 a ticket but it was very good(there something like an $80 fee on that ticket). It was an awesome city and I can’t wait to go back but be prepared to burn through money haha. My biggest shock was lunch on the last day, left the Met museum and walked a couple blocks down and saw a deli style spot that was packed so we popped in. I had a brisket sandwich(maybe 3 slices of brisket) with a coke and my wife had quiche with a coke as well. $78 with tax and tip lol
@charlesjay8818 Жыл бұрын
why didn't you check the prices b4 you ordered, surely you could have figured out $78 is a rip off and gone somewhere else, or just watch a few you-tube video's on where is cheap in NYC. $78 for a sandwich a quiche and a few cokes??? c'mon
@chrisleger1725 Жыл бұрын
@@charlesjay8818 You’re totally right and had we looked at the menu before we sat down I could’ve saved a bit of money but none the less we still would’ve paid a decent amount for a sit down lunch. We’re very fortunate that we were able to afford that trip so it’s a FWP complaint lol. Funny enough I was trying to find the place because there was a toy store beside it that my wife wanted to order from and I saw the google reviews and sure enough, the 3rd review down was someone complaining about the brisket sandwich and showing the lack of meat. The place is called E.A.T and yeah the reviews aren’t great for a reason.
@vanessazannis5523 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely no deli a few blocks down 5th Ave from the MET. You must have traveled east a few Avenues. Sorry you had a horrible lunch. Those prices are ridiculous even for Manhattan. You would have been better eating at the museum. Or grabbing a hot dog out front.

That's why you should buy street food a lot rather than be eating in fancy sit-down restaurants (street food can be bought in the Outer Boroughs and _sometimes_ in Manhattan.)

@@vanessazannis5523 the place we ate at was called E.A.T and it’s a 3 min walk from the Met if you go the fast way. Just googled it to see how far and the most recent reviews are all horrible still.
