Here's my thoughts on an itinerary . Get out early and go to 2 attractions for the day. It's better to enjoy 2 at a relaxed pace as compared to 3 rushed events. . With doing two one could get back to your room say around 5. Then take rest , shower up and change your clothes. Then go out for a dinner that doesn't involve a lot of walking. Back to you room at about 9:30. So call it 2 events plus the bonus event where one has time to rest and reflect on the day.

I don't agree. For many of us this will be the only time in our lives we'll be in New York because of how expensive it is. Don't sit in your hotel "resting". Don't miss out on things because you didn't feel like squeezing one more thing in the day. Experience it all. Life is short and precious

@@tryingmybest206 That's just it. You could run yourself ragged and still not see it all. You could see lots of things and still be only scratching the surface. I agree with something I heard. Don't feel you have to see something because it is "the" thing to see/do. Decide beforehand what is important to you and make your itinerary based on that. I came back from London to the U.S. in June 2024. We did one or two things that were in the same area. We weren't criss-crossing all over London in one day. We left for London on a Monday. We got there on Tuesday and took it easy that day. Any exploring we did was close to our hotel. We left the next Wednesday for home. I planned Sunday as a free day. Maybe more exploration around the hotel and yes to rest. As it turned out we didn't get to do everything we wanted to on Saturday so it was good we had nothing planned on Sunday. I'm not a drinker and I'm not interested in the nightlife of a town. In my opinion nighttime is when the crazies really come out. I was back in my hotel at dark visiting my hotel restaurant and resting up for the next day.

@@christianhansen3292 the weather will soon be changing we are approaching fall, right now our forecast is around 80 degrees in daytime, I suggest wearing clothes that are not too heavy that are comfortable to walk around in, as Sarah says ny is fast paced unless you want blisters on your feet at night I suggest flat shoes, loafers, comfy sling backs , ny is the city that never sleeps. When it comes to attire , clothes, makeup etc less is more really. Especially when you are sight seeing and visiting. When it comes to going out somewhere nice like a play or fancier restaurant that’s where if you decide to dress up more it would make more sense. I hope this helps if you have any other questions I’m happy to answer.

I live in Avondale, Arizona for over 20+ years., Never been in New York, but almost every video I watch reminds me of Mexico City, walking fast is one of the things, I hope to be OK after all I completed a few marathons, but I knows I'm gonna be tired next week I visit NY for the first time, your videos are amazing I watch Here Be Barr videos too, and I'm just exited to see all those beautiful places, I was able to make a bucket list based in part in your videos i have tickets for a Broadway show and the Met and hope my employer autorize my tickets for Madison Square Garden. :D not sure about the lockout or speak-easy, but top of the rock and please don't tell are a must. thank you very much.

A lot of places in Chinatown are cash only. Also, now there's an additional charge when you make purchases with credit cards, so having some cash on is advisable.

Also exchange rate fees. I use my credit card(subway, bowling, paying for a quick dinner), but I always bring a good amount of cash as well. And as you said, as a huge fan of Chinatown, cash is still king there. I also don't know any bars that doesn't accept cash for beer.

We drive from Massachusetts and usually park at an iPark covered, valet garage in Harlem pretty cheap. I use the ParkWhiz app to reserve ahead of time and have never had a problem. Just got parking for Veterans Day weekend from Friday at 8pm until Monday at 8pm for $47.

I just came back from New York and let me just say I’m really turned off from how DIRTY it is . I always knew how dirty it was but damn. I went for a food tour with my sisters in Chinatown to try all these viral spots . These places are dirty . There’s old oil in their vents, dust, bunch of trash right outside the restaurant. Idk how anyone finds this appealing. There were these noodles I tried and I had a taste of legit toilet water in the noodles .

@@MrzBadaBing We had a neighbor who went to NYC back in the '70's. She said it was dirty with a lot of trash lying around then. Not appealing but you have to say they are consistent! She gave me a postcard with the Statue of Liberty on it. My uncle went to San Francisco and gave me a postcard with a cable car on it. They went on the trips-I got lousy postcards!

In my experience it's true that you'll rarely need cash in NYC, but depending on what your local currency is and the country's exchange practices are, it might be a lot cheaper to get cash in your country than to use your card. I know in places of latam you can "buy" dollars in cash and it's usually much cheaper than using bank cards.

Hi Sarah my name is Michelle from Scotland, I am disabled we have be watching you channel for a few years we did visit New York just before the covid hit at the time I used a walker frame we are planning a trip next year, but this time I am I a wheelchair or mobility scooter so a little worried about getting around and not sure about even trying the subway, do you have any guilds on how to get about if you are not able-bodied, I know you did a video few year back with a friend who was wheelchair bound, but there is not a lot of videos out there that gives you a good idea ? Oh also congratulation to you, Luis and Bella in adding an other little one to your family

First time on the subway since before 2020 last week, I used a credit card at the turnstile. It would not accept a second tap for my wife, so we had to use a second credit card. Don't know whether there was a glitch, or that's usual. First time watching this channel in a long time. Don't remember so many ads.

I'm lmao! Your advice to not make eye contact is the first advice advice I give to my visitors. It attracts the crazys. I tell them that pedestrians cross wherever and whenever then can as long as there's no traffic and you can alway tell who the tourist are because they're the ones waiting for the traffic light to turn green. Although the advice about not wearing sandals I'm not too sure about. I've seen a lot of people, male and female, wearing sandals in the summer including myself. About me - I'm very, very old. Came to Manhattan as a teenager and about 8 years ago made the move to Brooklyn. Absolutely love the city and love your videos.

Just as a general piece of advice beyond New York, but cash is, and always will be, king. Having some cash on-hand not only makes certain payments like street vendors and haggling situations easier, but it also prevents some really awkward situations if your card is denied or they simply don't accept cards. People who say you don't need cash are ignoring all the times you do. Bring a little bit of cash.
