Okay basically the adverb phrase is kinda of a type of a prepositional phrase. A prepositional phrase can either function as an adjective or an adverb. When a prepositional phrase functions as an adjective (describing/qualifying a noun)it is called an adjectival phrase. When the prepositional phrase functions as an adverb( modifying a verb ) then it is an adverb phrase. So in short, think of the adjective and adverb phrases as the two kinds of prepositional phrases. Hope this helps!

Sir how can we identify that a phrase is a prepositional or adjective? For example: The cat of black colour is belongs to me. Of black colour, is a prepositional or adjective??? Sir am getting confused ,but your answer might be prove fruitful in order to making my concept clear...
@EnglishWithAshish4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Ahmed! A preposition phrase either works as an adjective or as an adverb. It still remains a preposition. Can you not be a man and a doctor? You can, right? Similarly, a prepositional phrase has a preposition that shows some relation of a noun or a pronoun with another, but the complete preposition phrase works as an adjective or an adverb. The cat under the table is mine. Prepositional phrase: under the table (Working as an adjective, which cat? The cat that is under the table) Preposition: under.. showing a relation between the cat and the table Hope it helps!
