Great video! I often make mistakes when I'm finishing a sentence in a transport context and have to use the prepositions "in" and "on". With this class, I think I'll never miss it again.

Hello, Elliott! Thank you so much for this clear and concise explanation on transport prepositions!!! Oh, I wish some of my previous English teachers had ever explained it to me in such a simple and logic way! I’m an English teacher myself, and now I’ll be happy to utilise your explanations from this lesson to help my students!

I'm a native English speaker, and new to ESL teaching. This was a nice, succinct explanation, so thanks for that. I found it while searching to understand the verb 'ride', because it seems that, for modes of transport where 'on' is appropriate, there's also a choice (in many settings) to make it a direct object, with NO proposition. Here are three examples of that choice: ride [on] a bike, ride [on] a horse, ride [on] a rollercoaster. (I believe this doesn't work with modes of transport like 'car' that take 'in'.) I'm teaching a low-level Chinese student, and want to keep things simple for them - wondering if I should teach the 'on' form or the direct-object form.
