Good afternoon. I attended the 250 meet about 10 years ago. Basha’d next to you and a bunch of blokes who were making solid use of an old parachute. You came across as genuine and sincere, unlike someone else who was there, who completely ignored me, even when I spoke to him.. That’s one reason why I’ve kept my head down and profile low for ten years. Not a person I could trust.

Not stay in your digs for the weekend wondering who people are. This meet was one of the vest ive been too people actually encouraging newbies to get involved under the chute. Darrens attitude has changed, brother ,he's more concerned about selling rather than helping others or even communicating with people .I used to watch him all the time, but it's become a sales pitch for stuff he's selling. i was really nervous to go to the brecon meet in june but i went, on my own with my little dog. darren was friendly and welcoming and his dad was a sweetie. this last meet was lovely to see everyone i met last time and to meet some new faces. but the host completely ignored me and my dog as he seemed to ignore everyone. it is a great community we are all building and even though i may not be able to make it to pyners as i have so much going on, i will be there in spirit and look forward to seeing you all further down the road when i have freed myself from my current situation. thank you all for been so welcoming, you have all contributed to my new and positive direction in a dark and sad moment in my life .

i had a great time. the weather made it perfect for me lol it was a good meet and thats why i spent the hole time walking round talking to people :D it was great to see you and ukpm. i wish i could get to more meets or even do it every year like i did at church farm but with bad health i have to re think a lot of my preps and go camping as and when i am able. i got left out like you dude. some fella walked round every one but me but i am fine with that. i felt at bit shite at the time when the people either side of me got a hello and i was walked passed but i just think there is not enough time in the day with camps like this to see every one. for the past year i have been awol and unable to get out and about but that weekend made we want to fight harder and get out more while i can and meet people old and new :D

The meets are for the community to pass on knowledge, skills and network. Everyone will have different views and opinions that is fine, we are all preppers or whatever title we give ourselves. As a community we need to work together before the major SHTF event.

I dont watch funky prepper anymore anyway, he is a tin foil hat kind of guy and some of the things he talks about are very unrealistic, sometimes superstitous, prepping is about being ready for any eventuality and bushcraft and survival plays a massive part in that dont beat yourself up theres nothing as strange as folk and he is a very strange guy theres plenty of others at them meets that will be very pleased to have you there myself included i was in wales during the midlands meet but im hoping to get to one eventually we do all need to stick together and come together more and theres no room for ego either its about community funky has never been one ive looked up to in this community tbh its people like yourself that teach valuable life lessons its better to know and not need than need and not know so dont worry about it keep doing what you do 💪

We were there and we met a couple of KZbin peppers but I felt uneasy with some chat about Darren, valid or not. My friend went home early because she felt vulnerable and the terrible weather. Would love to have met you though. We all need each other and I wouldn't have been there without Darren advertising it although we had to go to his tent and get him to come out, not on really.

Its rather sad that things like that have to be said, from a newbies perspective I get the impression someone has tried to corner the market of "Prepper groups" in the UK and isnt a fan of others trying todo their bit? I was at the Wales meet and you wouldnt have thought that that Funky guy was supposed to be the host, I dont watch him as he seems to be a bit of a crazy conspiracy type so I wouldnt have even known but I saw signs for Rogue Roger, What If, Viking Mitch, UKPrepperMan and yourself but nothing about him. I was led to believe this was a midland ran event when I was invited as it seems to be the Midland gang were the only ones doing anything.

I've heard on the grapevine this is why Lee from the Bug Out hasn't been to the last Wales meets as Flunky slagged him off from being there last year. i dont know the bloke but Darren seems to be a bit of a twat by the looks of it and doesn't like it when others are organizing things as he feels he is the face of UK preppers. Remember Darren always goes on about he never takes any money from the meets but all he does is find a location and tell others to book a certain date, no organizing as such. perhaps he should stick to begging for money from old grannies who listen to his sob stories. Im off the the Bug Out Weekender and we need more local meets and if it upsets the ego of flunky so be it. More meets and more networking is what it should be all about, perhaps when there is a big enough demand someone can organize a UK National meet up where all local groups can meet.

Just to clarify, Shovel (Paul) does not have a personal problem with Darren. He is voicing alot of what people have been saying tho, that Darren kindly arranged the meet but then was absent for most of it and didn't do his walk around to greet people, as he has done in previous years. Combined with the bitching about "his meet" being taken over by the Midland group (which was not the case), it jus happened that 85% of the demos were from guys who set up the Midland, and who were sat out at night chatting and greeting people, as was I.
