We have a food room in the basement and once our son moved out we expanded the food stores. We also have what we call the "war room" - personal protection, bug out bags and other items to protect us.

We are way ahead of you and have been prepping for a few years now. We do canning and also invested in a freeze drier and have done some freeze drying of foods. People need to do prepping at their own pace and as their money situation allows. We plant a garden using heirloom seeds to we can get our own seeds for the next growing season. It is good to give tips for those now realizing they need to prep. Any tips from any listeners are good also. Shop for clothes for children ahead of their current size by going to garage sales and thrift stores where clothing is a lot more affordable. Use storage bins to store the clothes in and label them with the sizes of clothes inside. For those in small places with no basement or large storage area, use places like under beds, inside closets, set up shelving in a bedroom if need be. Get creative where to store supplies. It is best to have places not in sight. I have a friend who bought some large wooden boxes. She put them in her living room with the opening to the back and stores things in there and covers it with a colorful cloth to disguise what it really is. She has since added more in her bedroom and some of her children's bedrooms. She has done very well at collecting supplies ahead.

What I've been thinking lately is that my best by food in cans that are passed the date or close to it. I've decided to dehydrate them to preserve them. Then refresh with newer stuff. I understand they are still good for long after that but jiat making room.

I have been prepping for some time as well. This has been my first serious year for gardening, though, because we moved to the country last summer. We did ok for our first year gardening, considering our land was a forest this time last year. I was able to can a few things, but mending the soil this fall and next spring is definitely something I will be doing to ensure a better yield next year. Your channel has helped a lot. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

thank you for the suggestions. I have thought about a few of these. I have recently bought my own home. Working now on trying to get a pantry as I have some can goods I have put up from before. Also some food grade buckets of sugar, rice and flour berries(?). Also have the wheat grinder. I am still organizing and down sizing I will probably doing the yard sale of things I don't need to survive. Thank you to you and Colby.

I have just recently put all my food in a location to keep up with easier and see what I have. I’ve done that with all my freeze dried foods in containers and canned jars in boxes can’t fit on the shelves. After the tornado last December we’re in a much smaller house so lot less room.

In order to survive, one must have a village. Things are going to get rough here real soon and when that happens, you're going to need people around you that can compliment your skill set with their skill set. I just found your website and is truly amazing. I'm not sure if you discuss this topic in other videos, but you might want to consider a village of people with skill sets. I am a double board trauma/cardiothoracic surgeon. I am also a veteran so I am combat trained. It's these types of people that you need to surround yourself with. Just some food for thought.

A cool dark space is an excellent storage space. Depending on the size of containers of water you store, you will need a sturdy floor like a garage for 50 gallon water containers. Nothing no matter what I have tried works, I can start to get ahead and every time I do, something happens to put me back. This inflation that I'm dealing with now is like none I have every been through before and pay has only gone up by 1%. It is what it is. I will survive one way or another I always do. No worries

Lots of people do not realize how much food they eat and need, especially if they don't go to the store to get. Think about it. If you eat meat and two vegetables a day. 1 month that's 60 qt jars of vegetables and that's 1 meal a day. Doesn't count breakfast and lunch, plus how many in your family to feed. Are you kidding??
