I'm from the East Coast and from an Italian family, my mother always did her potatoes with skins on and removed them afterwards. 1/2 tsp baking soda to water makes egg peeling easier. It sure does pay off to have a podcast on KZbin, lots of money to be made according to how many followers you have. Happy for you, enjoy your new home and car! ❤️

Also have to add that I have been a subscriber for years, but have recently been re-watching a ton of your videos as I am dealing with anxiety. I find your videos calming, fun, motivating, and reassuring. I've had you playing on my phone every evening as I'm cooking or cleaning up my kitchen. Feels like I'm in the kitchen with a good friend. Stovetop eggs: Put eggs in pot, cover with cold water. Sprinkle some salt in set on stove and bring to boil. Once they start boiling, turn off the heat and put a cover on the pot. Let them stay on the burner while the burner cools. After 12 minutes they will be ready to peel. I usually leave my eggs on the stove in the hot water until the water is cool.

I saw this on Collard Valley Cooks, bring your water to a boil first, add eggs and cook around 12-15 minutes. More eggs will probably need more minutes. They peel perfectly every time. After spending an hour on Thanksgiving morning trying to peel 12 eggs the way I used to cook them I found this way. It is a MUST try!!!

The only differences are that I use spicy brown mustard (and a lot of it) and I season the potato/veggie mixture with salt, pepper and garlic powder before I add the creamy mixture. It's kind of like seasoning the pasta water - got to add flavor at every step. 🙂 Thank you for your great content and inspiration!

I steam my eggs also. I put a metal steamer in my pot, couple inches of water, eggs and lid. Once it comes to a boil, lower to med, 11 minutes covered and they are done. This was from Cooks Illustrated from years ago, I make all my eggs this way, the shell comes right off. Its the steaming that makes the shell come off easy.

These recipes sound delicious. I now use my IP but before I had one I would cover my eggs with cold water, bring it to a boil then turn it off and let it sit for 15 minutes. Drain the water shake them around in the pan and put in ice bath for a few minutes. Then when ready to peel gently roll the egg on the counter under the palm of your hand. This trick works everytime.

i do a plain potato salad, I usually boil my spuds without the skins, and dice them up when they are warm and I add some onion powder salt and pepper and mayo while it's still warm. I really found that when I do it that way it sticks better to the spuds and they are creamier. then fridge them and when I use them I check and if it needs more mayo i add and check to see if the seasonings are good.

Great video' kimmy and 40min's long?! Heck yes! I hope your hubby had a great birthday! My grandmother taught me a trick for hard boil eggs...put as many eggs that will fit in the pot, then cover with water. Once it is boiling add 1tsp of baking soda and just a tiny drop if white vinegar. Stir and boil for another 30secs..then cover pot with a lid ( I just use a large plate to cover) let sit off heat for 5min. Then place eggs in cold water..wait till cool (5min or so) then start peeling shell off. The shells just fall off so easy!! ❤
