What I`ve done this month after saving up for awhile is I stocked up on cases of tuna and sardines, upgraded my emergency solar cables for 40 amps, got two efficient bifacial panels to add, and got many more figs trees, strawberry plants, seeds, lime, chokeberry seedlings, two pineapple guava plants, and five dwarf everbearing mulberry trees. I`ll soon have a dozen fig trees growing. I had to get a bunny fence for my garden too and I got a nice headlamp and two pocket rechargeable plasma lighters. I also got glass wide mouth gallon wine brewing containers with airlocks in the lids to make blackberry wine and large mesh row and fruit tree coverings and 30 pounds of bird seeds to help them out because they get a lot of bugs in my garden. I can plant the seeds in the bird food as well. I`m gonna mass plant the sunflower seeds in the bag in a grassy field nearby and also numerous fruit tree cuttings when I prune them each winter. The birds and future humans will be very happy I think.

Caroline and I have thought about planting apple trees in the backyard. The problem is we don't plan on living here long enough to actually be able to use them. Also, the backyard is open for anything a future buyer could want to do. We always say we will wait to get apple trees once we buy a new place but it's been 8 years and we still live here. If we had planted them we would be able to use them by now.

You must live in a place where you never have to irrigate. I live in the West where we only get 32 inches of precipitation a year, so irrigation is a must.

You ever put up a wall tent before.

I've slept in one, but I've never put one up. At the time, I didn't like it and swore I would never get one. The white canvas lights up as soon as the sun comes up. I like to sleep in and so being so bright so early in the morning bothered me. Also, you could see the shadow outline of the people in the tent. I like my privacy when I'm in my shelter. Now that I'm a little older I think a green wall tent would be the way to go. I would have to burn more battery life in my headlamp or lanterns because it will be dark all the time but for me, it might be worth it.
