Blame it on the almighty algorithm, also we don’t upload very often 😆

Glad you guys are doing well. I don't know how many times I have gone into a project with an idea of how long it will take and due to project creep, my timeline is dust. LOL

Thanks! When planning projects for work I find the best method is to guess how long it will take, then multiply that by pi, maybe we should take the same approach to project cars 😂

A man’s ball... yeah, it’s like 30 degrees and freakin HUMID here. Pure suffering in the sun! Trees, shade, good things to have around in July and August. Speaking of trees, I think we call that red one a Japanese Maple. Goes with my Japanese MR2 and my Mazda pickup of the same vintage. I’m stuck in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Alternator. Yours isn’t a turbo so I think you will be okay, but the only way to get one out of a turbo is to drop the rear subframe. Not like working on a 60’s Chevy where your entire family could have a picnic under the hood. Had to show my wife the rattle can shacking... you guys are nuts!

At least you tend to have ac indoors in the us, over here we just have to suffer on the rare occasions it gets hot 😖 yeah the alternator will come out without dropping the subframe on the na cars, never did figure where that bolt was meant to go though 😖

I'm working on a 99 Tacoma right now with an aging 5VZ-FE. My 04 is in perfect shape so replacing vacuum lines won't be necessary for a good while. Meanwhile on the project 99 every vacuum line is cracked, torn, or previously replaced with non-vacuum line tubing. The previous owner actually tried using woven nylon water line tube... Cutting your own is definitely a solid option vs buying whatever Toyota still makes.

Where did you get the silicone vacuum line from?
@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness5 жыл бұрын
Just from eBay, you can by lengths of 4mm internal diameter silicon hose

came here to see the vaccum pattern & i think i've got my sensor bracket on back to front 😢& i'm wondering my my hoses wont reach ha ha joys

What was the diameter of your silicone line replacements :D
@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness3 жыл бұрын
Think it was 4mm internal diameter, but can’t remember for sure, sorry 😖

Thanks for the info. I have the same engine in a gen 6 Celica and I heard they range from 4,6,10mm, so likely all the lines you targeted at the back of the engine were 4mm (looked like you were using the same replacement line throughout there) Hope you're well!

@@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness funnily enough, I had 3m of 4mm internal diamater tubing to hand... I swear im never lucky like this

A vacuum actuated coolant temp sensor? wow Japanese cars have some weird stuff. You could try drilling out the holes and screwing/glueing in some small threaded tubes (... or very tiny brass nipples). One of you is chuckling at 'nipples', I know it.
@EnginesandUnfinishedBusiness5 жыл бұрын
hehe, nipples. Yeah, the Japanese loved crazy vacuum setups in the 90's, that's a pretty good idea though, we'll definitely look into it if the car struggles with the current bypass set up

You may be months behind, but I have over a year (like 300+ hours) of unedited film. I am a failure.
