My mother made a pink fruit salad every Christmas with watermelon, pink seedless grapes, pitted cherries, strawberries, raspberries - anything on the pink/red spectrum. She'd also dress it with a strawberry liqueur and lime zest/juice. Heaven! (BTW this was in New Zealand where Xmas is in summer!)

I usually add cubes of green apple to my fruit salads for some extra tartness and texture, and I dress it with lemon juice and thinly sliced mint leaves. Will definitely try the lime/honey dressing next time - sounds delicious!

I made this recipe for a family gathering. I soaked the banana slices in the dressing while preparing the other fruit; the citric acid in the dressing prevented the bananas from browning (thus, not needing to wait until the last minute to add them). I also substituted 5 packets of Stevia and 6 packets of Aspartame for the honey. It was a big hit, and I will make this again!

This is definitely a healthier alternative to the fruit salad my family does hahaha! In our fruit salad we start off making pistachio pudding, then dump in drained fruit cocktail, mix in sour cream, rainbow marshmallows, room temp cool whip, and chopped walnuts!

Great fruit salad! One recommendation I do have is that you can slice the black berries in half so that it could bleed out for more flavor, but at the same time the juices from it doesn’t go all over it and make it look less appealing. But not slicing them in half is still good either way.

Growing up in a Mexican household, anytime I tried someone else's ambrosia salad at family parties it was NEVER the same from one family to another. Everyone seemed to have their own version of it but they all were delicious in their own way.

I made this salad yesterday. I found this recipe on another website. That recipe suggests using a potato peeler to skin the kiwi. You cut off both ends of the kiwi and peel top to bottom.

This looks like another dish I'll have to try. My go-to fruit salad recipe includes watermelon, berries, banana slices, halved grapes, a handful of mini marshmallows, and a generous sprinkling of crushed soft dinner mints (think Brach's dinner mints that come in pastel colors, or even the butter-flavored mints). So good! But dinner mints are impossible to find outside of the US, so your fruit salad might just end up being a winner for us.

I used some tips from this to make my own. I used the same dressing just without orange, and I used strawberries, bananas, mangos, pineapple, and pears. The bananas can be added in at any time, or at least for me they could.

I didn’t realize how much I want kiwis until I saw your thumbnail LOL! I’m very lucky and have access to fresh Meyer lemons right off the tree, so I usually use the zest and juice with some fresh mint or basil in my fruit salads. I grew up eating only canned fruit... not my favorite. But for my boys, I had some kind of fresh fruit at every dinner. I think they thought apples and other fruits come already sliced etc!! I like the idea of adding the acid, as if I make a fruit salad I normally just add a splash of water and sugar and let it macerate.👍

we always had a fruit salad at thanksgiving called Waldorf Salad. it was various fruits, (heavy on apples lol) with either whip cream or mayonnaise as a dressing. sometimes with nuts added.
