Story time... my s/o is an injured Afghanistan vet and i use to drive semi. We made friends with the local amish, of all people lol!!! They've been a huge blessing to our family of 7 in both kindness, and wisdom. In just the same way, we've been able to bless them when they've needed it too. It's simple, in all things be kind, treat others as you want to be treated, and try to understand.

My family (in Romania) makes the syrup and sends it to us sometimes. We use it mostly for cough. But also mixed with some mineral water (or the soda stream) to make a yummy drink out of it. I’m back to update you on my Mugolio following your recipe... It’s delicious! I used a large pickle jar to collect and mix my pine cones with the brown sugar. I let it sit for 45 days and finished processing it this evening. Initially (45 days ago) I thought I’d have a lot of syrup. I only netted 24 oz but it is delicious. Next year I’ll increase my batch so that I can give some away. Lol… I’m keeping this batch for myself. Thank you for being a blessing and a bright light in this dark world. May Yah bless you! ❤️

I had to come back here and let you know that I waited ALL winter last year until early spring here in Wisconsin to make this recipe. I started it in June 2024 and let it sit in my pantry until today, one month later. Oh, my stars this is amazing! I now wish I had made more!!! Next early spring, I am harvesting more to make more and will let it sit for 6 months to taste the difference. My neighbor loves it too. What a wonderful taste and it's thick like honey. This is going to become a staple in my pantry. God Bless you dearly for sharing this recipe and how to do it in such easy-to-understand instructions.

The heat breaks down vitamins, but allegedly so does metal. I raised my children in the 80s on homemade baby food, and was told by doctors not to grate fruits with metal and instead use plastic graters or glass, since when the fruit comes in contact with metal, it degrades the vitamins. It's also better to hand-cut vegetables (when you can) like spinach rather than cut it with metallic utensils, because of this. I knew this from my father also. I don't know if it's true or a wives tale, but I still practice this. I also don't stir fizzy Vitamin C with a metal spoon.

In GA they do a similar recipe for grape wine by burying the jars for up to 6 weeks. The grapes in GA are Muscadine and Scuppernongs. All you do is load a jar as you did with the pinecones and add a cup of sugar. White or brown works. I recommend raw cane sugar. Then cover and bury the jars. OH MY do they smell lovely. Heating after the 6 weeks isn't necessary because no sugar is left and simply strain thru cheese cloth. I am going to go searching for pine needles as soon as spring arrives. Thank you for this video. awesome !!!

I love the aroma of pine trees, so how cool is it to have something “pine flavored” lol. By the way I wonder if this would work if you use pine needle essential oil. It probably won’t have all the benefits, but it’ll make it fast and easy.

I agree, but told Debbie in another comment that after I strain them I usually "rinse" them in milk to clean them of the residual sugar and enjoy a delicious drink, and then just throw them out in the yard. They are hard and brown by the time they are expended and leached of their juices so I don't think they would be edible.
