You are totally adorable . I just scored a Dietz Monarch USA , made in NY and I think it'll run. Those will still be good lanterns without that gimmick. I burned biofuel a few years back, and it was great . Smelled okay. I hate the smell of parrafin and kerosene , so I'm fooling around with alternative oils. Olive oil is next on the list. I'm sure by now you've experimented with alcohol "penny " stoves, "Cat" stoves etc. The ones I made will boil a pint in 4 minutes . I use them on non windy days on bike tours when I don't want to listen to the jet engine noise of the Isobutane stove. You have to be super careful though because the flame can be invisible. But they still use them on Everest. Some very cool rocket stove designs showing up now on Facebook. Now I want one for my upcoming cabin build.

I think the full-grown tree you showed was a horse chestnut, native to Europe (?) You can't eat its nuts as they poisonous and the tree is basically an ornamental tree not reaching anywhere near the height or girth of our old American chestnuts.

Fruit in season maybe will be use like blackberries or pineapple, it was on the fruit availability. Lord, Bless my project proposal, making an organic vinegar from our local fruits.
