Prerequisite step before teaching flying lead changes

I don't do this with all horses but for some horses this is a step I add before I start teaching flying lead changes. This horse is poll resistant, heavy on his front end and does not engage good in the back so it will be helpful for him.

Nice work on lead changes. He does look heavy on the front end is it possible to pick up his front end right before changing leads by lifting up both reins? Thanks for sharing love watching you teach these horses what they need to know ❤

Yes it is possible to pick up his front end with the reins but this exercise should help him to do that on his own.
