Did he ever do anything very great? Why is he & his wife so wealthy now? I’ve heard they have 5 homes. So President Trump was already wealthy when he became president. However, the Obama’s BECAME very wealthy during his presidency. Just one of so many things that doesn’t sit well me.

@@joevahargitt1556 You "heard" they have five homes? And DT "heard" that Obama's birth cert was fake. Really, THAT'S your argument of why you think he isn't great? I NEVER said he was great; just an adult. And as for DT being wealthy..... well.... I "heard" he got all his money from his daddy... and STILL couldn't avoid four bankruptcies. Educate yourself, please. Don't just go by what you ":heard." btw: he's got two homes, one in Chicago, one in Martha's vineyard. Can DT verify HIS 'wealth?'

They did this to make press smoother. But half way through Obama’s term that practise was slowly started being used less n less.

I like his ideas, I like his attitude, and I like his determination to do something. I think what people have to understand is that you have to spend money to do something about this. Some reason I think people have this idea that if you leave it alone, it will correct itself. Or that something can be done without spending money. Thats just asinine. Though this is a simplistic statement but: To help a broke economy, you need to somehow plug money into it.

FDR thought excessive competition was responsible for the Depression by reducing prices and wages, by extension reducing employment and demand for goods and services. He made a recovery package that allowed businesses in every industry to collude without worries about antitrust prosecution and let workers demand salaries about 25 per cent higher than they should have been. These misguided policies prevented the economy from recovering earlier.

Watching this 14 years later, I think that the people in this room severely underestimated the amount of deficit spending that this bill would cost and subsequent programs would cost in the next 8 years. Something had to be done about the recession, no doubt, and I applaud Obama for that, but the deficit would later balloon upwards of 15 trillion in the next 8 years, something that I think working class Americans and their families will be struggling with for probably the next 50 years.

Hi, 2020 here: Can this guy please come back? It's so nice to hear the president talk in cohesive sentences and who understands what he is talking about. Besides he wouldn't ignore scientists if they don't agree with him and ignore a f***ing pandemic for months until it's to late and then brag about how "well" he handles the mess. What a time to be alive...

im sure there are a lot of republicans who are really caring.. my best friend is a republican and he is the best person in the world. Obama believes in republicans, that is why he is trying to reach across party lines... but ur right.. i cant name one republican political leader

Let me explain what "change" is for those that dont understand. Change is seeing a Black man win a presidential election and inspiring ANYONE, to want to follow their dreams. But for a young black teen to turn on the TV and see a man that looks like him succeed by gaining the ultimate position of the American Presidency, is very powerful and does inspire "change". Change can happen outside the white house. It is happening to people all across this nation to want to do something positve in life.

Actually, it's been steadily decreasing, although that doesn't take into account participation rates. Though I think participation has leveled a bit over the course of his administration

with all due respect metalica547, please check out your history of the 1929 crash and its subsequent Depression. The president at the time of the crash and the first years of the depression was Hoover (Republicn) and he refused to put into play the idea of government injection of activity to keep the economy moving. Keynes' thinking only came in with FDR, in 1933. And, I hope you are getting some relief from being laid off. Take care of yourself.
