Hi Boss. Is it a good idea to start socializing them when you 1st bring them Home. Or Maybe wait a few days until they get used to their new House ? Also, is there a specific place to start out with the Social process you recommend ? Thanks for your time.

The only issue with my Presa boy is he’s TOO playful with kids and is big and clumsy but not aggressive towards them, in fact when he first met a toddler he was the calmest most controlled dog in all the world at the time lol, he followed my brothers little toddler around all afternoon like best mates, i was surprised and proud, he is ok with my disabled nephew who has cerebral palsy and my dog is absolutely fine with him too, he does however hate strangers with a passion, if you even look at us or the kids he goes off the deep end nuts and lets them know to stay away 😂😂😂

You're mostly right. For us, we started with a working line and just breed the most gorgeous of them. Took us a little over 20 years, but we have a working line with a show quality coat now. Very rare now a days

only thing I don't hugely love about presas is the barking 🤣 I knew what to expect though. unfortunately being part Gsd she's also kinda whiney but I love her to bits. my lab is far easier to manage and can happily go sniff my bunny without scaring it, whereas my presa chases it like she wants to rip it to shreds 😭 but now more than ever I'm so glad I got her. I've lost my house keys, so on the rare occasion I have to leave her alone (like if I have a medical appointment so I can only take my lab since shes an assistance dog) at least I know my presa x will bark if someome random walks in and hopefully scare them straight back out, before they reach the living room to see she's crated and can't touch them lol she has a terrifying bark 🤣 when she's older and better behaved she won't need to be crated if I have to leave her home alone so then she can properly defend my home :) she's a big softie, I doubt she'd eve bite an intruder, but walking in to see her barking and growling would scare anyone away 😂

Yes you have to consider with your mix breed that there will be a combination of them together and you won't know where the traits come from unless you're an absolute expert not only with both breeds, but the bloodlines as well. I have 2 female Presa Canarias, they are like shadows. They always want to next to me and family members, can't pet them enough

@SoCalPresa Only 1 problem with my 2 Presa's, once the pup turned 1 year old she began fighting with her Mother. I must keep them separated

@SoCalPresa I bred other breeds including wolf hybrid, pitbulls, Malamutes, and Boxers. My Presa's are the 1st time i have experienced females fighting.

This is not a novice breed, nor should it be promoted as a family dog with the right socialization. For every one Presa that turns out amazing, 3 others turn out bad because people see them on sccial media being misrepresented as a family dog. Presas are for very advanced handlers who have large amounts of knowledge and experince with these dogs.
