This is a great example of a traditional preschool circle time. This is not at all in alignment with Waldorf philosophy, though. You have some materials in the background that one could possibly find in a Waldorf setting, but that does not make this an example of a Waldorf-inspired circle at any age, let alone preschool. I think it's important to be accurate in our descriptions if we are putting ourselves forth as a teacher. The quizzing of children and asking them questions like, 'What day is it?" "What color is this?" is actually believed to be damaging to a young child within the Waldorf methodology. It's not about buying some silks and some grade school books and then applying those to a public school model. You can of course do that if you so choose, but it would be more honest to call it, a 'traditional preschool circle.' At no point is a circle about showing children posters and asking them questions in Waldorf. Seasonal songs would be sung in a particular scale, in a particular way with healthy movement. Children wouldn't sit and listen to a song and answer questions asked by a teacher. For those who are interested in what a Waldorf circle does look like in preschool, here is a good example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJKahIZnpNGra6s I am not meaning to criticize, but just to offer an accurate depiction of what Waldorf is...

Fantastic video. Can you please either write the name of the printables or post a link. I'm having a hard time finding them on Etsy. Thanks!
