@@mulmareun I liked everything about Longlegs except for the ending. Specifically, the reliance on narration and the weirdly edited montages. Though, I will say the movie is rich with foreshadowing and some neat implications, mostly in the form of missable background moments and mixed media stuff. I understand why people didn't like it though.

This is without a doubt one of the best teasers I’ve seen. Take notice movie makers and companies this is how it should be done. Not a trailer that shows half or more of the movie.

​@@streak0r You can at least expect it won't be a feel-good movie. The vibe is very much conveyed. I doubt they'll stop at three teasers. If the marketing of Longlegs is any indication, then there'll probably be a full trailer at some point. I think it's good practice to provide a teaser that only captures the vibe, so anyone who wants to be surprised in the theater can just watch that. If you want to know the plot of a movie before seeing it, that's fair. But that's not what a teaser is for.

@ paranormal to be sure. Very little gore that I remember if any - but that’s not to say it wasn’t a horror film. Granted, I didn’t find the ghost part very scary, instead being disturbed by other characters.

Two trailers were released today. One for Venom The Last Dance and then this one. I think it’s pretty safe to say which one is selling the movie quite well with its simplicity in the marketing. These are the kinds of teaser trailers I love!👏

Neon is so good at promoting their movies. I bought tickets well ahead of time for Longlegs and went the day it came out. Then while I was watching that movie, the commercial for Cuckoo came on and I was like yep, going to see that. That was also a phenomenal movie. This production company is quickly becoming one of my favorites

I'm in because of David Koepp (who worked as a screenwriter on Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man etc...) who in 1999 Directed STIR OF ECHOS which he adapted from the novel of the same name by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Duel, The Twilight Zone etc...). Yet despite Steven Soderbergh's mainstream success he's always been an Arthouse Director with a cold clinical style that lends itself well to Horror, Mystery and Suspense as seen in Kafka, Solaris and Unsane, the last of which was shot using an iPhone 7 while this has been shot with an Sony A79 III. Soderbergh's use of smaller prosumer cameras is what I admire while the entire movie from what I understand is from the point of view of a ghost which is unique enough to make me want to see it in a theater!!!FACT!!!

I dunno, perhaps the ghost is simply an observer. It can do nothing but move and watch. But maybe the family's trauma resonates with the ghost's trauma and that 'friction' manifests the 'hauntings' which the ghost doesn't control.
