We can say that past simple focuses on the “Time” But the present perfect focuses on “ indefinite time in the past “ so “ it tells us as if the action happened or not in the past “

Before I started working for abc company , I had been working as a teacher for 10 years. In above example, Am I still working for abc company? Because I have used a simple past tense which tells us that action or state must be ended in the past I have had this confusion for a long time. Could you please help me solve this problem? Looking forward to your reply. Thank you. Your answer would be appreciated.

I want to know the difference between'wish'and 'hope'~~~
@laurawolfe1545 жыл бұрын
HOPE implies more that something is possible whereas WISH is used to state a desire. Also, HOPE is more focused on the future, and WISH is more focused on what is wanted right now. (That's not a rule - just something I've noticed.) I hope the sun is out tomorrow when we go to the beach. I wish the sun would come out so we could go to the beach.
