even they didnt make it , i still salute this choir. i think they should continue this choir and audition again next year. in our standard in the Philippines, this choir is on a different level. this choir name should be change to' the choir of Veronica' an all girls choir carefully selected to be a member. i just hope theres a wild card, because i still hope they can be in the final because they deserve it. well done girls. you gave your school prestige and honor.

What makes this a good song choice and a good performance is not that the song is well heard or a clear choice to sing, it's how you sing it. You have to be able to take a difficult or classic song and do it justice and not everyone can do it.

everything either adds to or takes away from any presentation, nothing is neutral. Being a religious song took away from it for enough people. Im sure the teacher thought it might. It did for me anyway.

This performance was a bit disappointing as it did not bring out the true potential of this choir I am certain. The choice of song was wrong - despite it is beautiful... It was as if theyr were also sending a religious 'message' and this was not the place for it. (Espcecially coming from a religious-centered school) and despite this 'identifies' whith their school it simply was a poor choice. They would have done better with singing a classic like Carl Orff's 'O Fortuna' (even if it has religious overtones) than Ave Maria as that would have been more powerful a performance to keep them closer to the top. Despite all this, I like this choir and I hope they do more in the future and we see them again! They ought to record a CD with their retired music teacher.

I'm not religious at all, and it didn't bother me one bit if this was a "religious" piece. It was astonishingly beautiful and definitely showcased what they can do, and I believe they can be even better. BTW I think "O Fortuna' would have been a bad choice, it should be used for a male choir as the vocals are probably too low for the girls.
