I created Redemption Treatment as if I were to going to be a client there myself…

Branch out to Cecil County. There are recovery houses, but not many teach the life structure and don’t hold people accountable.

Thank you Brandon, seriously thank you! I’m trying my best to stay 100% clean here in Austin, Texas, another major addiction central! Hey and care and respect you and hope Bam finds what he needs to get healthy. He is a cool and funny guy. But more important is Bam is human and I do get it he’s lost in his addictions and vices. I always stumble with this as well, you'd think oh I have a roof over my head I have food I have support. There are ppl that are no longer here that would be happy that I repent and try to push to be better but nooo.. As soon as I'm alone at night having panic attacks an say have one beer or something I think all hope is lost an when I think that I go for a snack and then after that I think I'm getting out of shape next thing you know I cant resist porn I blame others for my poor health or not having hope that ill ever find a women.. I get turned on then I blame others more say for binge eating then I go to watch porn rather than take accountability for my own actions and realize its not the end of the world I hope to find someone in the future but if I don't that's fine an if she is getting railed out there then that's on her not me I should still be good for God.. an that I still am trying for a greater purpose say that be the after life and maybe ppl are trying to tear me down an stop my heart but I need to calm down and realize so what if there are ill be ok ppl will have my back against injustice, God will as well I just need to also calm down an do my part for myself to repent.. and if I were to die then God forbid that would happen but only time would tell that I shouldn't get mad at the others trying to tear me down or possible kill me but rather the fact that I have Gods refuge and should still be trying to do good only for myself..

Brandon I heard your story in a South Dakota treatment center, it was my 5th treatment center. Your recovery story is motivating to me and reminds me that addiction doesn’t discriminate, addiction doesn’t care. Hope to accomplish what you have accomplished, sober.

Wish I could talk to you. I have been paralyzed 30 years this July. 2023 and prescribed methadone most of those years for pain. So over a year ago my dr got in trouble for over prescribing. I have had 3 major spinal surgeries.. I have severe spasms that don't stop. It's more like a body cramp, My back is broke between my shoulder blades. from there down is flexes. In an arching motion. it is very excruciating. They just kind of came out of nowhere about 7 years ago And have gotten worse ever since. Anyway, now I go to the methadone clinic. And take 38 mg a day. I am scared to go any lower because my spasms are getting so severe. I have no idea what to do. It's almost like I go into seizures. When I start to come down off of it, not even in withdraw. Sorry I am all over the place. I think it has a lot to do with being on this crap for so long. Thanks, anyone who cares to read.

I think having real palpable pain and just being an addict are two different things. I know the line can get blurred easy though. You don’t sound crazy to me. I have very real anxiety and an over active mind. So I struggle with whether I should be taking Xanax or not. On one hand it truly helps, on the other I’m scared it’s hurting me.

Banyan helped me to see how destructive treatment facilities can be in people's lives, and how it's just another band aid that tacks on financial burden and more pills (unless you absolutely need it because your life has fallen apart). Banyan was a nightmare that showed me just how predatory people can be when you're at a low-point in your life. Ironically, that truth helped me to learn more about myself, so in a sick way, I have to say thank you. -From a sober person who's found his way without the brainwashing and pseudo-spirituality.

This is what I'm struggling with with Brandon. Brandon, I want to believe you're better than predatory treatment centers. You've gone through hell and can give more than you can take. I don't know where you are on your journey right now but I sincerely hope it isn't head-hunting addicts to get a cut of the insurance money. I believe in you Brandon to stay sober w/o predatory practices. I wish you well.

@@Pancakeshouse85 Well said. I started to see there were issues with the treatment centers when Brandon sponsored the scholarship program a few years back. Researching what to expect, I found that Banyan's Florida location had a drug house that was coincidentally nearby, and read some articles talking about the predatory practice of these facilities essentially scamming insurance providers, and taking their own cut, while pushing people into a system that has a less than 7% success rate; and that's being generous. When I got to the location I stayed at, I had been warned of the threat of sex trafficking by one of the team members (can't remember the specific title they give to the employees). I'd even heard from one of the people who wanted to leave (a man, mind you) that if he left, he was at risk of being 'picked up' because it was late at night. That was also told to him by an employee. I could go on about how they mis-prescribe anti-psychotic meds as sleep aids, the encouragement of addiction replacement (unhealthy food in place of the drug of choice), the 'patients' being sexually active, etc. but I hope just what I've said is enough to make others reconsider their options. If they see this.
