This is the best configuration ever of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Hot! Hot! Hot!

I had the pleasure of going to Preservation Hall when I visited the Quarter 16 years ago. It was one of the absolute highlights of the week spent there in January, amd I thank everyone who had us partying the whole evening!

Front row in March 2023 and was undescribable. In the 60s the blues came to the US mass people thru English bands (it had been here for hundreds of years in the US but most people did not know, understand or listen). This video is (among many blues forms) what the English bands listened to and exported to the US. Seeing this in person makes you understand the solos/beats that are so many songs that happened way after New Orleans (Led Z first album, Bluesbreakers, Cream, Yardbirds, etc). To say that they were not influenced by this is simply not listening to it. Absolutely eye-opening!!

OK look here, people. NOTHING is more constantly misspelled than that phrase! It's written incorrectly almost everywhere in New Orleans, for crying outloud! The correct and only way to write it is "Laissez les bons temps rouler"! How do I know? I'm French Canadian! But hey, I love you all, and most of all, I ADORE NOLA!!! :-)
@lalouziane8 жыл бұрын
LOL, yes, NOLA is special. Down here, we have at least two different ways to say or spell almost anything. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
