Cars from the zeroes are gaining in popularity. They can be quite reliable, have a decent performance, and often don’t depreciate. If you are searching for such a car, the 911 997 turbo might be for you.
In this video I will show you if this is also financially a smart choice. First, I will show you some general market statistics so you get a feeling for the market. After that we dive into the details and divide the analysis between the 997.1 and 997.2. Since model year is no longer driving the price, we will investigate both markets from a mileage perspective. For the 997.1 we can see a clear price increase in the manual market. For the automatics, the increase is much smaller and more difficult to sport. For the 997.2 market, unfortunately, we don’t have enough data points to split the market by transmission type. Yet, we can split the market between the Turbo and the Turbo S. This split reveals hat price developments are mixed. They are stable, but it is much more difficult to sport increases than in the 997.1 market.
To wrap things up, we have a look at the auction results from bring a trailer. This confirms our earlier analysis. Prices are moving, but only very gradual.
