Wednesday 25th October 2023, LMS Stanier 8F 2-8-0 48305 (visiting from the Great Central Railway) is seen at the head of a 6 coach set running to the purple timetable during the local schools half term. We first see the locomotive steaming about of Summerseat, before heading towards the former Ewood Bridge station and finally climbing towards Townsend Fold signalbox. Also in action on the Wednesday was Jinty 47298 on the lines Dining with Distinction Luncheon service, also seen passing Townsend Fold Signal box.
On Sunday 22nd October, a pair of Bulleids were in operation, with West Country class 34092 City of Wells, fresh from overhaul, joining summer visitor Battle of Britain class 34072 257 Squadron (SLL). The two locomotives double headed the first and last services of the day, with Wells taking the dining train in between. At the end of services a 3P20 organised photo charter was ran with the two locomotives at Bury Bolton Street station, and 257 Squadron is seen bringing the parcels set into the station for this event.
Please note, there is no public lineside access on the East Lancs, lineside shots are taken as a Working Member with Accredited Photographer status.
