She comes from the Santhala tribe, from one of the most remote and underprivileged districts of India. Early graduate from her village before serving as a teacher, a junior asst in irrigation and power department. Became a councilor working for the poor in Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat. Later on became MLA from Rairangpur twice also won best MLA by Odisha Legislative Assembly - despite being from opposition as well. She has had handled the Odisha government's transport, commerce, fisheries, and animal husbandry ministries. She was the Governor of Jharkhand, becoming the first-ever tribal leader at that post, before becoming the president. All of the above notwithstanding the personal tragedies she has had. She is an Epitome of what a person with extreme humble background can achieve with devotion, dedication and will to serve people. A household name in Odisha, she is a true inspiration to one and all.

We have seen her ground-work in her native state due to which she rose to the assembly then to a governor. Btw, she is a bachelor (in Arts) which I had already mentioned, wondering if you missed it on purpose. However, her work is much more than her education. Besides, when APJ was the President he did the same - attending fest and lecturing. Thats what in democratic India the constitution head does anyways. You need to learn that too I guess. She is the best candidate for this position in this day and age given her background, struggle and triumph - demonstrating even the one in the last of socio-economic queue can be the first citizen of this country. If she doesnt deserve it no-one else does.

Ramnath Kovind was much superior to Abdul Kalam. 370 came down during his reign and he played an instrumental role in that. Abdul Kalam is extremely overrated. His achievements were before the presidency, not after. As scientists, Homi Bhabha and many other deserve much more recognition than Abdul Kalam does. Kalam has become the new Mother Theresa, where people blindly overrate him.

Actually the president is very fortunate to have graced the occasion ; Sadhguru is not just any Guru ; because of his humility, many people donot understand his greatness as an Avatar ; soon after alighting from the car, a garland was offered to the President Murmu by Sadhguru, she missed out to notice it ; later on Sadhguru honoured her with the same garland, which she acknowledged thankfully ! For the next function at Chikkaballapur, Sadhguru may consider inviting vice President Dhankar, a person of great humility and cordiality ??
