Israel is surrounded by a slew of Islamic states who want them destroyed. The US is surrounded by an oceanic expanse on the left and right and not one country has the resources to stage an invasion. to the south a country who benefits be being US' manufacturing hub and to the north a country whose resources we don't need and is only 1/10th our population where almost half supports annexation through economic strategy not militarily. Israel is a really bad example.
