I love President radios, running this one in my Avalanche currently. Cool little radio and it gets out fine with a properly tuned antenna. Has a great receive, weather alert works great and audio on receive sounds good. Asc works well also. I would recommend this radio.

I ordered a new tuned Johnny III during the summer from a CB shop for the company dump truck I drive, I haven’t installed it yet as I’m getting a replacement truck, I haven’t taken the radio out of the box yet to test it in the other company truck I drive.

Channels 9 and 19 are typically pre-program because the former was an emergency-only channel and the latter is considered the center of the band, not because of their popularity

No, 9 is because its the emergency channel, and 19 because its the "trucker" or travel channel, so they are preprogrammed for convenience. Channel 9 is useless these days, but 19 is still the travel channel and if you only have a cb, the best channel to try to get help in an emergency. "Center of the band" would be channel 20. 1/2 of 40=20.
