He was modern mir zafar. He was a murderer who killed innocent freedom fighters on fake accusation of killing Major Zia. Also, he killed general monjur who was loyal to major Zia. Moreover, his party attended the 2014 election and helped awamileague to convince the international community that it was a fare election. If he stood beside bnp and other opposition parties at that time, this dictatorship of current ruling party would never emerged. So I will always recognize him the modern mir zafar of Bangladesh for these reasons. But we can’t deny the developments he did for the country. But you should never say that he is/ was a real hero. He was never a hero, rather he was a greedy and controversial person.

Wow I'm impressed by ur eloquent speech Mr Ershad. As a Bengali it makes me proud that we have had highly intellectual leaders in our great country and I'm sure we still have. However one must speak the truth and admit that the current leadership of Bangladesh is a complete disgrace.. Bangladesh urgently needs a new leader who can take the country forward onto the world platform. As it stands, Hasina is in denial about the countrys political and economic turmoil and the dwindling support for her patty. She is only digging her own grave by trying to unjustly silence her political oppositions. It's very ironic - when her family, not long ago, were slaughtered for the very reasons of corruption as now under her leadership. So it begs the question, just when is it her turn to be slaughtered just like her dad?
