Eduard Shevardnadze is undoubtedly a great Georgian. He loved his native Georgia and the Georgian people. He was a defender of our freedom and democratic principles. Our representative in global political orbit. He was a symbol of global political thought. Most importantly, Shevardnadze will remain the author of the collapse and end of this greatest evil empire of the Soviet Union. Thanks to Mr. Eduard for these excellent diplomatic meetings with world leaders, correct assessment of events and further resolution of many pressing issues, German reunification. I thank him for his great contribution to German reunification. The name of Eduard Shevardnadze will remain among the world's great politicians
