I am not a member of the LDS faith, however I have been watching and enjoying many sacrament meetings that have been broadcast online during this time of covid. I choose to not criticize those who are different than me but I choose to find the ways that unite us. I believe President Nelson is a prophet of God and I thank him for taking the time to pray with all of us. I am grateful for our similarities and for those things that unite us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I still remember where I was two years ago when this message was given. I sat by my little girls bedside at the hospital while listening to President Nelsons speak about the healing power of gratitude. Five days earlier my little one had been severely injured in an accident and lay in a coma while her body healed. I still remember kneeling by her bedside during President Nelson's powerful prayer and I earnestly prayed for the same things he did! That experience and message gave me the courage to continually ask for miracles and thank God for the miracles he sent during the 3 months that followed. We witnessed unprecedented healing up to the day God took her home. It is strange to say that, to witness healing before death. God was merciful in so many ways. Today I listened to this message again on the anniversary of my daughters accident. This message now brings me new perspective. As I follow the gratitude pattern President Nelson exemplified in the video, I thank God for the time I had with my baby. I thank God for her healing. I thank God for all the doctors who extended her life. I thank God I was able to hear her sweet voice again and hear her express her love so many times during those few short months. I thank God for all the financial miracles he sent from such an expensive stay in the hospital and for the countless angels that came to our aide and prayed along with us. I am grateful for and appreciate the children that are living. There is so much to be thankful for...

I have put my full heart back into my amazing church. While a have been gone into the church building it’s self because of the pandemic I have been reading my bible more, listening to the music more and praying more. I feel so much better having been able to get myself back to where I am supposed to be with my lord in my heart at all times and I’m so thankful for this church as this is what I have grown up in and while I have wandered I know I will always be able to come back and be with my Eternal family

This remedy, GRATITUDE, was what healed my wounds. In my darkest times which included the pandemic as I thought all was lost then, it was to leave all the troubles behind and be grateful for what I once had, for those happy moments, even if for a short time, for what I still had at that moment. Everyday, being gratiful for those I met, those I spoke to, the day, the life and for still having a place to lay my head and sleep. Soon, the fear, the bad thoughts, the dispair, all those bad feelings went away and gave place to relief, to hope, and thus I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just a simple thing, GRATITUDE, changed it all. Thank you Pres Nelson for reminding me of this.

Over the years, when I’m experiencing particularly difficult adversity, I’ve made a list in my journal of things I’m grateful for. I did this most recently when our house was broken into and someone stole a bunch of my expensive tools. I was also under a lot of stress at work at the time. One night I was feeling especially frustrated. I realized I needed to do the gratitude thing, so I started writing down every little or big thing I could, and as usual after 5-10 minutes everything was put into proper perspective and I felt a lot happier. It works.
@youtubeusername28363 жыл бұрын
Yeah, gratitude is amazing to change our perspectives in life! It’s so easy to focus on what’s going wrong, we often forget what we DO have. It’s not a bad thing to feel negative emotions, the important thing is that we don’t let them define our lives. Thank you for sharing your testimony about this!
@bernardloines71793 жыл бұрын
I do not if this reply is relevant because of the lapse of time. Sometimes adversity is a great teacher. It will teach you how to face adversity and how you can best plan your response to it. Praying is always a good place to start. Talk to God, I mean really talk to Him, be honest and straight with Him and He will help. Remember, He is a Man of "BONE and MUSCLE", and He walks everyday amongst us, and He knows all. And for inspiration, read Job in the Old Testament!!

I have been looking forward to this message of hope all week, and I was not disappointed. I had no idea what President Nelson was going to say, but I had an overwhelming emotional experience last night, wondering about my life, worrying about my future, feeling totally out of control, and battling the effects of isolation - and the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ testified of this same truth to my heart: GRATITUDE. I did not know how I would get through another day, and the only answer that brought me any peace was to stop worrying about the future, stop trying to change my circumstances, and simply to be grateful for all of the good things in my life right now. I felt much better today, even rejuvenated. President Nelson spoke at the end of my day in Ukraine, adding a second witness to the truths God had whispered to my heart the night before. I disagree with this church on a number of things, but I also know many good people in it. I’m sending love to anyone who has experienced the cold shoulders of a percentage of believers brushing you harshly on your way out of the church. Know that you are strong for making your decision to step away. And I’m sending thanks to those Church members who are respectful of those who have chosen not to stay.
@matthewhart55733 жыл бұрын
Luke, I respect your choice, but come unto Christ. This is the true church and you can be blessed for being a part of it. Yes, we may disagree with some things, but they are a gift of healing from God. I respect your choice, but I recommend you pray.

@@matthewhart5573 while I do believe you’re urging me to pray because you care about your fellow man, I must say I wish it were that easy to just pray and god would reach out and communicate but I’ve been trying for 30 years and have no evidence that gods even real. I’m glad (and honestly even envious) that your life has been blessed by the church and faith you hold. I am happy when faith works for someone, it just doesn’t work for me, I’ve resolutely given up on that.

Unfortunately satan is working on our minds the most right now. We are isolated and surrounded by negativity and turmoil. Satan uses that against us. Please remember you are of divine birth. You are worth the very blood of Christ. Giving gratitude is a chance to count how many times the answer, relief, miracle, love, strength has come before. He will answer you every time. Please hold on a little longer. My children and I struggle with depression as well. When it seems too much then slow down. Focus on small goals and not the big problems that might drown you. There is Light always. We must fight on. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ #Givethanks

To everyone who has replied to this comment I am so very thankful 💖💖 I was truly letting myself go and I wasn't treating myself right I got to a point where I would only have 1 proper meal a day I lost 4 kg in the span of 2 weeks I feel so messed up to the point I don't even know where or what even is my worth.. If there's a thing like Falling out of Love, maybe there is also a thing like Falling out of Faith but I'm not saying the church or the gospel isn't real.. I know it is real, I still feel good about those truths, I still feel good when hearing the prophets voice.. but what I meant from Falling out of Faith is that having 0 energy to do the spiritual.. having 0 energy to make that effort.. just having 0 energy from everything.. but I am grateful for all of your kind and loving words, because it is a way for me to know that Heavenly Father sees my pain and sends people who are friends or sometimes strangers to bring me comfort 💖 These replied comments is what I'm grateful for today #GiveThanks
