President-Elect Tom Dobbs (Robin Williams) on SNL co-hosted by Tina Fey, and walks out of being the President of US. From the movie Man Of The Year.

" ... and Tom Dobbs achieved what every politician could only dream of; to be revered as a statesman of principle and honour, but not be obligated to actually do a single thing. Ask any political figure, it's performing any political action of any kind that pisses people off. But by stepping down at the first opportunity and having everyone blissfully wonder what could have been, his rep is solid gold. His show, plus speaking engagements, and any other gigs, all moneymakers, undiluted with facts about actual service. Politicians are still dreaming of attaining that."

@aarontownsley2811 I am not trolling you. The entire point of the movie per Robin Williams was to show one that the government was just as corrupt then as it is now, and two was electing some TV star as president was a bad idea. That is all I'm saying. If you feel you're being trolled by my comments, then that's on you, dude, not me.

I get it he didn't really want to be president in the end but if he had run again I'd imagine he would have won for real because he would have been truly the first honest politician the US has had in a long time. The other thing was that because he was charismatic, he could reach more people by being funny and serious when the situation called for it, people would want to hear him not merely for entertainment, but to hear his take on matters they would be able to relate to. He wasn't afraid to call people out on things, he didn't try to spew nonspecific answers to major questions like most candidates do.

Well the sad thing is we actually got to kind of experience this in reality, when the court jester takes the throne. The court went out of their way to demonize and persecute the jester, to make him regret challenging their authority and do everything to keep the jester from pointing out that the emperor has no clothes.

I love how Poler and Fey play right in step with Williams. They and everyone else knew Williams was way above them, but they didn't drag him down either. Rest In Peace- Gennie / Mr. Keating / Simon Roberts! FUCK, IT HURTS having to mentally overwrite the detail that... you're fucking dead all over the context about what I know about you! 😫

They totally butchered this scene by cutting Robin's monologue after talking about the flawed educational system so we can hear Christopher Walken narrate.

In these tumultuous times, I would give men like Robin Williams and Fred Rogers, men with integrity and knows what they stand for, a chance for the Presidency, like the Americans did back in the 70s with the late Jimmy Carter. Sure, it may be a mistake, but it’s a mistake I’m to make rather than hesitate and not act on it.

The fact that he was honest enough to tell the truth and walk away means Tom Dobbs is MORE deserving of the office, not less. He says it's a stage he doesn't belong on. Quite the contrary, if only more men and women like him WOULD take that stage, the country , no the world would be a much better and happier place to live.

tom dobbs said it best. he's a court jester. the one who makes fun of the king. but make no mistake, just because you have the insight or a contrary position on a how a king should rule does not equate that you are fit to rule. or to lesser degree, give an opinion to something you don't know nothing about

The electronic voting systems are rigged. They are used to keep people out of office. There are plenty of cases of election fraud to prove this. Greg Palast has done a lot of investigative reporting on this and Tim Canova has been trying to get justice for himself in Broward County Florida for the fraud against him by Brenda Snipes.
