I remember a small amount of controversy about this. I'd say looking back, banning those pro Russia parties hasn't affected the Ukraine cause too much, particularly given that any support for Russia in Ukraine is now next to zero. My thinking with banning those parties is to offer Russia one less opportunity / platform to spread their cancerous propaganda.

Dear Darin, Indeed, most likely decoys, but not ground decoys like with Himars, M777 or alike. They talk about DOWNED planes … To avoid friendly fire, planes use IFF systems, some kind of transponder identifying friend or foe (ally or enemy) system. When using high value systems to perform attacks, eg using Stormshadows or Neptune systems, and to increase the chances of a breakthrough, the Ukrainians send in decoys carrying IFF transponders attracting the russki air defence to use their ready rockets on seemingly high value targets without visual confirmation. A hit on such decoy is then registered as the plane ID it was carrying. And of course the number of hits may be exaggerated just as well, taken into account the reporting psychology within the russian army hierarchy. Anyway, thank you for being the kind of person that cares about Ukraine 🙏🏼 Slava Ukraini ! 🇺🇦❤️🇺🇦 Heroyam Slava !

I would note that the decree does not prohibit discussion, it does prohibit actions by and for notably russophile entities. Those types of actions fit the definition of sedition. During an existential war, limits on certain communication and action may be appropriate in support of the war effort.Britain and the United States applied censorship and restrictions on types of activity, when national survival was at stake. Government should consider all measures to assure national survival. Sedition is a threat to national survival that must be addressed, as we are addressing it in our own country. I am a Republican, but my first and continuing loyalty is to the United States, but, we enjoy a situation where we have the "luxury" to address sedition after the fact. I e. I think you are mistaken, and applying a peacetime stand to a war of survival situation.

Do you think he is just tired? When you are truly burned out it is easy to fall back on Old Ways of Doing Things (maybe not so considered)

I understand your point. It did make me uncomfortable when he did that, also later when there was a crackdown on the Russian Orthodox churches. However, my feeling after much thought is that it had to be done. In a time of war when Ukraine's very survival is at stake, he had to make sure that everyone in a position of influence in the country was fully behind the effort.

Yet he could not afford too many of these or risk losing Western support.

I think he only cracked down on the Russian church when Putin cracked down Ukrainian churches in the occupied areas

You didn’t get to your point til around 17 minutes in. Didn’t even state what it was til then. Most of your viewers, most of the world, have been following the news in Ukraine. Do a 3 minutes recap if you must and state your thesis. If you think of the length of your KZbin as dollars you will be respectful of peoples time. 10 minutes = $10 vs 26 minutes = $26. You’ll get many more ‘sales’ with the shorter. Unless you’re going into deep analytical analysis of an aspect of the the war, like Perun, keep your videos more pointed and succinct. Advice I would give to any student preparing a talk.

I disagree to a point - some people like to have more background to give context, but yes, you have a valid point about being as succinct as possible.

1. Z's first strategic mistake was to believe that the US would support him indefinitely. 2. Z's second strategic mistake was not to implement Minsk 2. 3. Z's third strategic mistake was to turn away from the March 2022 peace treaty his people signed. Those are strategic mistakes IF the aim was independence, peace, maintaining Ukraine's borders (minus Crimea), retain Ukraine's industrial base, and ensure that Ukraine's population was no killed, displaced, or forced to emigrate. These errors resulted in the depopulation of Ukraine, complete destruction of its economy, growth of corruption from a remarkable level to a legendary level (Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates thar over 36% of foreign aid has been stolen by Ukraine's officials), rise in crime rate, and complete dependence on the EU and USA. Oh yes, there will also be more territorial loss and the real possibility of Ukraine ceasing to exist as a state.

All three are incorrect. The US will continue to support. It’s Russia that completely ignored every single agreement involving Ukraine since 94, he’s just mad that the west saw through the Minsk agreements and prepared for him to eventually break it. There was no peace deal in 2022, pure Russian propaganda
