I don't really have a favorite starter overall. Charmander was my favorite in gen 1, totodile in gen 2 (though he was def better once the attack/special split formed), torchic in gen 3, and then i kind of like all the starters about the same afterwards. They all are pretty cool, though i was severely disappinted with chespin in x/y. Delphox and greninja were much cooler evolutions.

My favorite starter is hands down Rowlet, a dapper young owl who evolves into the thuggiest of thugs and I do NOT agree with Barracks take on Gen 7, all three starters are great, not a single bad choice from the wrestling cat, to the siren seal, to obviously the best one Decidueye.
